@randomriku6774 Lol dude, the only reason that Ukraine exists is Russia. First by not allowing Poland to completely swallow it and break it apart with Hungary and secondly by augmenting its current borders (well not so current) with lands from Russia and all their western neighbors in USSR times. Also they made them an industrial powerhouse, a potential they completely wasted during the 90’s.

@76verdee Zelensky was dirty from the start, the only difference was his boss. He started working for Koloimoiski who basically owned him and wanted to pull an Escobar move, but soon found himself working for the State Department.

@budyn1412 Ok some people like to present the Russo-Ukrainian situation as if it’s the Turks breaking into Vienna, slaughter the men, sell the women into slavery and turn the kids into fanatical islamist Janissaries. Anyone who wishes to remain Christian must pay a head tax (or lose his head) but even then he is liable to persecution , his property can be confiscated on the whim of the local Pasha and because the court of law is religious based you can never win a case if you are a Christian. THE REALITY IS that the situation resembles more like a conflict between France and Belgium, but with the difference that both Ukraine and Russians share even more culturally and ethnically. They practically speak the same language ( I have been there everybody spoke Russian in their everyday life anyway), they have the same religion, same customs, they even share the same DNA and mindset. Let’s see it realistically what do you think that would happen if Ukraine did not resist? At worst a change of government, a roll back of the ultra nationalist agenda (which is based on fantasy anyway) and life would go on. Yes the ex-hooligan gangs turn into militias and their leaders would be in trouble but that’s like a tiny tiny fraction of the population.

The irony is that if the people chose to ignore the ultranationalist gangs and just did not fight when the Russians moved to Kiev, everybody would be at his job within the week. No destruction, no half a million dead, no insanity.

@randomriku6774 Ukraine struggled and wasted completely it’s potential (that was granted to it by being the No2 SSR) because it was governed by thieves and still is as the offshore accounts of the rats in Kiev proved. The people instead of fixing their country focused on fairytales promising easy earnings. Some of them believed that the EU money trees (dont exist) are waiting for them to harvest them and others believed that they could make a 19th century style ethno-state in a country that was the result of two multiethnic empires. We are talking about complete idiots who would give good money to buy a bridge.
