Let me tell you a secret. MOST militaries in the world use equipment much much older than 20 years old. Actually 20 years old is quite modern. Stop pretending that if there was a WWIII these would not be the bulk of the vehicles in use. Unless you want to wait 20 years until Germany can produce a full fleet of Leopard A8 or their new Panther. And guess what. Even then these will be obsoleted by newer models but there will never be a large amount of them.

Well what matters is the age of the bulk of the armament not the smaller amounts of the late type equipment. Trying to deflect by using the ‘’it’s just old crap’’ argument is just coping. All the armies are full to the brim with old crap, which are still used cause they work.

@RZakelis the ‘’guarantees’’ you mention had a clause of Ukrainian absolute neutrality. As soon as Ukraine was subverted by the US and turned into an unofficial NATO springboard, that contract was automatically null and void. You are not very clever are you?

@truxton1000 During my military service in 2000, I had a G3 A4 rifle, basically a late 70’s-early 80s weapon. The Leopard 1 A4 was still in service, with the bulk of the fleet being Leo 2 A4. Even in the US military where the armaments is basically a huge money laundering scheme, there is old equipment. Those people who think that actual militaries, especially of countries who are not in the perpetual war business, somehow press a button and ‘’upgrade’’ everything as if life is a computer game, are delusional or ignorant.

@willwebb3557 never said that? A few posts upwards you are claiming that ‘’a whole bunch has changed since 1986’’ basically admitting that the M1A1 is obsolete in a 2024 battlefield. Are you brain damaged? The truth is that all that Cold War equipment was never tested in a real battlefield and your escapades against aboriginals for the last 50+ years doesn’t count. In an intensive modern warfare environment all these tanks are considered expendable and are expected to be lost in large numbers. The large number of tanks lost both from Ukraine and Russia, is not a result of the extremely bad quality of their tanks, but of the intensity of combat. The Russians lost so many T-90s cause they are actually using them, they are not garage queens like the Challys to be paraded once and then safely tucked away. The same goes for the Ukrainians who have gone through their whole stock and the stock of almost all the ex Warsaw pact countries. The M1 A1 you sent were not even export versions. They were purposely downgraded versions and combining this with the natural cons of a vehicle that is needlessly heavy, of high profile and needs a gas station attached to it, you didn’t provide help. You provided high profile death traps advertised as ‘’game changers’’. Well the game changers ended up being opened like a can of sardines and now you don’t like the fact that the Russians turned your own propaganda against you. Yes those are some old junk you sent. I know it, you know it but the public in US and EU was bombarded 24/7 by your payed media that these were wonder weapons, and because the plebs are who they are, they believed that. Now try to tell them that it’s not so.
