From the Wikipage on the novel "The Futurological Congress" by Stanislaw Lem: "...Tichy learns ... mood is highly regulated by drugs. Tichy gets involved with a woman, and during an argument, she deliberately takes a drug called recriminol to make her more combative, which prolongs the tiff. Following their break-up, Tichy becomes deeply disillusioned with the "psychem" mentality, wherein drugs regulate every waking moment of the day. He resolves to stop taking any drugs and confides to his friend, professor Trottelreiner, that he can't stand this new world. Trottelreiner explains that the Narcotics and hallucinogens that Tichy is tired of are trifles compared to "mascons", which are so powerful that they mask whole swaths of reality. Trottelreiner explains, "mascon" derives from mask, masquerade, mascara: "By introducing properly prepared mascons to the brain, one can mask any object in the outside world behind a fictitious image—superimposed—and with such dexterity, that the psychemasconated subject cannot tell which of his perceptions have been altered, and which have not. If but for a single instant you could see this world of ours the way it really is—undoctored, unadulterated, uncensored—you would drop in your tracks!"

Meanwhile: China ahead of US in nuclear energy – report
> The Asian superpower is over a decade more advanced than the US, an American think tank has declared
> Currently, China has 56 operational nuclear reactors in China, and 27 more are under construction, the Washington-based Information Technology & Innovation Foundation stated in a report published on Monday. With authorities in Beijing aiming to complete between six and eight new nuclear plants every year for the foreseeable future, the report’s authors predict that China will have more operational plants than the US by 2030.
> However, China is already leading the US when it comes to so-called ‘fourth-generation’ reactors, the report noted. The world’s first fourth-generation plant – the 200 megawatt gas-cooled Shidaowan-1 facility in China’s Shandong province – came online in December, with China’s Nuclear Energy Administration boasting that “90% of the technology in the new plant was developed within China.”
> “China likely stands 10 to 15 years ahead of where the United States is in nuclear power,” the report stated. “Looking ahead, China appears likely to use this established domestic capacity as a foundation for competitive reactor exports, much as its ‘dual-circulation’ strategy has accomplished in other areas, such as electric vehicles and batteries.”

It has to burn itself out. The weak and cowed populace accepts anything: techno-feudalism, anarcho-tyranny, forced immigration, "health security", religious radicalism, open-air perversion, genital mutilation, crooked justice, a rigged banking system, a collapsing economy, war against Russia and China and politicians so clueless you must pressurize their cranium before they can move. Is there a way out before complete societal eutrophication? Maybe not!
