Thank you for the reminder/rundown of the Koch postulates, which are really a Francis-Baconian heuristic for making plausible to others that microbes exist and are causally related to the disease under study (as opposed to disease being caused by the medecine man casting an evil eye and some such stuff). Nowadays one could add "we can reconstiute the virus from its sequence on paper and a few worker proteins sourced from a medlab" as a cherry on top. Always distressing when a person fresh to the world of empiricism goes on about how CVOID-19 "hasn't been isolated" and then possibly says that this is not the case for HIV either as we were still in 1800 or so.
