  1. EU has no say in whether Ukraine joins NATO or not, but Ukraine would not have officially joined NATO before the LPR/DPR recognition - Germany would have opposed it. That being said, they were already inofficially in NATO - training, operational plans, doctrine and even urban combat teaching material for high schoolers were NATO.
