  1. DW: Constantly behind the curve. Russia "could"? Russia does! For 20 years Russia has tried to move towards Europe but just got schooled constantly in the glory of the Western moral platform and the need to roll over and accept military bases in their near abroad -- with some cruel lessons being about what happens to countries that don't toe the western line. Now they turn eastwards. F.U. Europe. (Also, the pan-continental Belt-and-Road Initiative isn't even mentioned ... will Europe still be relevant in 30 years or will it be an economic backwater where you can buy a cup of coffee for EUR 1000? Stay tuned!). For the take on Ukraine by China, one could do worse than read the Global Times editorial of February 7: "Furthest from Ukraine frontline, Washington is most eager for war" - that was before the whole "war scare" media construction deflated like a hormonal chicken on a plate. Good job, western media!
