  2.  @jimmye5700  Sadly yes, but the weapons have been greatly upgraded. It's like in WW1 where generals & politicians were not aware of the new power of industrial warfare and then half the continent burnt down.

  9. With the US internal situation going from ultra bad to ultra worse, I would say that NATO will fall apart within 5 years as US loses all interest in Europe and pivots to the Pacific for good.

  10. NATO has nothing to do with Democracy. Reminder that NATO is the US occupation forces of Europe. It's not even sure they can join, Turkey is unsure about this whole idea.

One element that mitigates the alleged "Putin's problems" is that Russia doesn't need to pussyfoot around with Finland as it does with Ukraine (which, lest we forget, is actually a civil war) - it can go full US-style shock and awe and ruiniform Finland in first couple of days before a tank even moves in. All of this might show itself to have been a mistake. Hopefully people can keep cool.
