I would really like to see how "Article 5" can be construed as requiring intervention on behalf of a "new member" that is in dire straits before even becoming a NATO member (if such a thing were even possible) and furthermore whether "Article 5" implies anything at all. Because going on a talk show to talk about the problem will cover Article 5 obligations nicely.
