Your videos are pretty refreshing: there's no b.s. you're straight to the point with no extraneous nonsense. Just things getting done directly, properly and to the point. Also, I like the fact that you're using only the most basic and necessary tools. Good job, man!

I would give anything to spend a night in a cabin I built, with my dad, cherish those moments
85
Kyle is a big inspiration for a lot of us younger people who are looking to do the same thing and live a similar life out there in nature. Keep up the great work buddy!
85
Incredible what guys our age have to go through just for a lick of freedom
83
This was a great video! Even though I watch all your videos, this was a great "in a nutshell" video for anyone wanting to know what your channel is about or anyone asking themselves if they can do this as well. Well done, Kyle and Cierra (and Skeeter, of course!)! ☺️

I am old enough to be your mother, so I can say that you are an amazing young man. Not many young people these days have the motivation or wherewithal to attempt, much less successfully complete, a project like this. Kudos to you! And I appreciate that you are so encouraging to anyone who would be interested in trying this. I love watching your videos. You are very knowledgeable. I would have loved to do something like this when I was your age. :-)

Window flashing tape has only been widely used for about a decade..old timers like me call it "the lazy mans caulking"..lol. Not paying $100 bucks a roll to do what a tube of sealant does. Build on.
81
She camps. She even takes her own fish off the hook. She’s a keeper!!!!!
79
That porch is awesome! I felt the cabin needed it. It will give you outdoor space in the summer to enjoy, and even in winter you’ll be able to cook outside. Really cool Kyle, great job!!
78
I can envision a nice looking cabin already.....And you and your dad working on it together makes it all that much better.
78
The accuracy with the hammer is impressive my friend.
77
Be very careful with chicken manure it is very strong. I would add it this fall after harvest and let it stay all winter and decompose then plant in the spring. If you are adding peat and new garden soil that should be sufficient. Try adding some food for vegetables since the land has not been used for gardening. You may want to rake up some of the leaves and brush and top off the soil after planting it will help maintain moisture and keep down weeds.
77
Don't worry about the tape, the calk will be just fine. Keep it up
76
The more i watch this channel the more i want my own little cabin in the woods.
76
Thanks for being respectful of your girlfriend that's very cool!
75
It is totally heartwarming to see a young person like you, who gets it. I love your style. Thank you for sharing.
74
I'm happy to hear you will not be using your girl friend for clip bate, quit watching a few channels due to that. Really shows no respect for their lady and she surely doesn't respect herself which is very sad. Good to see the build is getting started. I'm getting excited for you both
73
Kyle, I wonder how we survived before “window tape”. The horror.
72
Girlfriend? you had better marry that girl, they dont make them like her anymore, Cute as a button and loves the life you are both living,
72
If I had a son I would hope him to be just like you, Kyle. Hardworking, unassuming, respectful of what you are doing, and love the outdoors.
71
And people spend $80k on a tiny house. I vote Kyle!
71
I’m smack dab in the middle of a great book. Only for Kyle or Sierra would I put down this book to watch a video. Yep, I’m a fan.
70
You are a polite young man. I am old, that is why I said it that way.
70
Great progress Kyle. It's not a mess, it's construction clutter. A Solar electric fence will help with the bears.
70
Going to be a beautiful home Kyle! Thank you for putting yourself out there for everyone to throw darts at. You are helping many people see, "It can be done!"

I turn 53 this year...when I was younger, our family didnt have a TV till I was maybe 10...the kids never came in till dark...and when we did we helped mom cook food and do chores...it was quite and excellent life back then...CHEERS from Baltimore

When I was a child, my dad would build a fire on the lake, and take a snow shovel and with ice skates he’d make a fun maze path for all of us kids to ice skate on. What fun we’d have! Us kids ice skating and adults all around fire. When we’d get cold we’d warm up and head right back out….wonderful memories
68
Skeeter is the most awesome dog ever!!! 👍🤗❤️
66
I stayed in a similar cabin. Upstairs, there was a large 2' x 3' grate set into the floor. During the day, they had a small area rug over the grate, so the heat stayed downstairs, but when you went to bed, at night, you slid the rug away and the heat from downstairs moved up into the loft space. It worked like a charm.
66
I still would put a piece of flashing between the concrete blocks and the "green blocks". You can still do it 'after the fact' with a little jack. Your cabin will last 20 years longer !!
66
Very nice. I just love watching you build things. I'm older, 65 and I think of my Da when I watch you. My job as a child was to hand him the level so he didn't didn't have to get down off the ladder. Great memories. Wishing you, Ciera and your homestead all the best. 👍
65
That's the most grace I've ever seen a person handle youtube backseating with. Looking great!
64
Your dog is beautiful, and is having fun in the snow.
64
Bossoftheswamp is the best! Been watching him for years. Definately a wealth of knowledge! Good choice to learn from. Love your videos. Keep them coming!
64
Hi Kyle , I think stacked field stone or river stone would look great for the skirting on your log cabin build .
63
You my friend have restored my faith in the youth of today. My hat is off to you!!!!
63
turn that journal into a book id read it
62
Noone can ever say that you're not a hard working young man Kyle !! Good luck with your future endeavors. I truly enjoy the honesty and work ethic that has been instilled in you. We could use a lot more of both in this country right now!
60
Kyle I do watch your ads. I know you do YouTube full time now and put a lot of time and energy into your videos. You deserve and Cierra deserve to capture all the revenue you can from your labor on producing the content and I feel like its my small way of helping you two continue to build your life together. I love the idea of Cierra having her own channel. Im often interested what her take is on what you guys are doing
60
With the money they save, he can buy his girlfriend an engagement ring.
60
Thank you for putting in the effort to film and edit these and share with us! ❤
59
Looks great! You are proof that the American dream is still alive and I hope you never give up. Be blessed!
59
Thank you for that video! My husband and I are in our 60's and just recently started our off grid homesteading life. We couldn't be happier and less stressed. It has always been our dream to live this way and are excited to have the opportunity to pursue our dreams. You are so right about some people not understanding how you can live without indoor plumbing, but quite honestly I don't care what they think. When you think about how much water is wasted flushing toilets and going down the drain, we all need to live more sustainably and mindful of our natural resources.
57
You’re doing a great job buddy you two should be proud of yourselves
57
Cierra is a special person to share this dream with you.
57
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Can't wait to see the log cabin come together.
56
Build yourself a nice garage to get the cars/trucks out of the elements. Plus it will give you extra storage.
56
A few days ago my five year old grandson asked me why I don't make pancakes anymore. I told him because he is never here for breakfast. He looked at me and said "pancakes can be eaten any time of the day". So, we had pancakes for dinner..lol
54
It’s a nice feeling to see all that seasoned firewood piled up and ready for use. Your guys place has really come a long way. Such a beautiful place. Looking forward to seeing the build of the new cabin. Thanks for sharing.
54
Been deep OFF GRID for 3 years now, much respect young man.
