  13. “What you practice in private you are rewarded for in public” “How we do anything is how we do everything” “Leaders are readers” Kwik believes many people are depleted because they spend unnecessary amounts of energy by trying to hold themselves to an image/identity of their ideal self. Succesful people in all areas need a growth mindset. The heroes journey is knowing you will run into challenges and then you overcome them. Your brain is like a super computer and your self talk is a program that will run Keep your self talk empowering and positive Motivation and action If you visualize something in your head and your not acting - there’s an incongruency. The way Jim came through it was to think “What is my why?” Human potential ‘we underestimate’ We were told a lie that somehow our intelligence, learning, creative is fixed - In the past two decades we discovered in brain science more than in the previous 2000 years. What we found is that we highly underesteimate what humans are capable of. This is about transcending - the truth is we’re genius, we’re faster than we think. “What what man can do, anyone can do” Kwik and Gary V thinks self awareness is a superpower If you want to be an elite mental performer or a real life superhuman Guard the first hour of your day - no distractions. You train yourself to be active instead of reactive Habits and behavior change Behavior is belief driven Many people don’t read because they don’t value reading. If you want for instance a new habit of journaling - then you need a belief that allows that behavior exist. You can’t change your behavior if you don’t believe you're that kind of person. -> Expand your thinking, get references think BIG and grow RICH. Creating identity change - who do you believe you are The two most powerful words in the world is : I am Because whatever you put after determines your destination or destiny If you wanna understand high performers and successful people - copying a behavior simply doesn’t work - you need to really understand their beliefs and how they are thinking. -> who do they think they are that allows them to do and execute on these behaviors? A wise guy said : I don’t have problems. I have puzzles. ACT AS IF - TRAIN YOURSELF TO BE YOUR VISION Set up a winning environment that triggers the behavior you want. Are people setting up their environment to win? Many behaviors don’t stick. Therefore Kwik focus on areas such as : You want to trigger to remind you to do the new behavior. Geniuses set themselves up - environments, apps, effectively block distractions etc. Example : Having a computer for work - it’s anchored to put them into flow without being distracted. Having an iPad for play - it’s designed to make them relax. They use it specifically for different purposes. In other words - be extremely self-aware - know where and when you are motivated. Genius set up their environment to win Part of their success is because their not-to-do list is bigger than their to-do list. They know exactly what to avoid in order to excel in life. Kwik on Success rituals, high performers and making an impact We all have sovereignty within us - whenever we put it out we’re like a Are you a thermometer or a thermostat ? A thermometer just reflects what the environment is giving it - what is the temperature? A thermostat sets a standard - it dictates the temperature and impacts the room. Kwik believes our happiness, level of success is about transcending your uniqueness. He doesn’t look for perfection because he knows that state doesn’t exist.

  17. Ummmmmm ... my first reaction to this was NOOOOOOOOOOO. I've thought Tai was a scam artist for a while, and to be fair, his marketing does come across as extra spammy. BUT ... I REALLY liked this episode. He even explained why he markets that way. And as Tom has said before, you have to be able to separate the message from the messenger. Even if you have preconceived notions about Tai, you should listen to this episode. There is some great knowledge in there. I haven’t done this since the Inside Quest days, but I took copious notes on this one. Some takeaways: 1. Start small. Get small wins. It will scientifically build up your brain. You'll grow the amount of dopamine receptors in your brain. If you keep failing, you lose dopamine receptors & you become less ambitious. If you succeed, you actually grow more. Just get a bunch of base hits. You can have a massive vision, but your daily goals should be small. Build. Macro patience, micro speed – shout out to Gary Vee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFzPuEEvnDU&vl=en 2. Multi Objective Optimization – it’s all BS. You can only optimize for one thing at a time. Don't try to start 13 businesses. Focus on one. Side note: Tai optimizes his life for adventure. Seems like a pretty good thing to optimize for considering we're all gonna die someday. 3. Nobody knows what they're doing, even the people who are rich and famous and seem to have it all figured out – they fucking don’t. Everybody is just trying their best. (This was an “aha” moment I had a few weeks ago actually – so this was one of my favorite takeaways). The ultimate adventure is trying to get insight and see life as a puzzle. Your goal is to seek the adventures that piece the puzzle together. So at the end you kind of get it. 4. Health, Wealth, Love, Happiness. There has to be a minimum amount of money in place to survive, that's why "wealth" is above "love". The absence of money brings unhappiness. Once you have the first 3 in place, you just get happiness. Happiness is like soup, it's a compilation of a whole bunch of stuff. 5. Conscientiousness is the trait most responsible for business success. Formula for conscientiousness: a. Organization - be a little bit organized. take 10 min and write out your goals for every day b. Perfectionism - know how to double check your work. c. Diligence (Hard Work) - hustle & perseverance. Put in consistent effort over time. Reps & sets. d. Prudence - this is the kicker. It's the ability to make the right decision. Most entrepreneurs walk around the world to get to a point one mile in front of them because our compass is backwards. How do you adjust your compass? MENTORS! lol. You have to read, watch, & learn from people around you who have done what you want to do. Most people just take off in one direction without stopping to think about which way they're going. You have to admit you’re lost. Sit the fuck down and learn from other people. BOOKS! KNOWLEDGE! (LOL btw, this is an awesome video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jOKfU9uL5s ) 6. Don’t discriminate who you learn from. Take the things you want and leave what you don’t like. You can learn from everybody, even if it’s what not to do. 7. After the age of 25, the way people learn is through massive trauma. So you have to let in some trauma in your life, but you don’t have to learn everything through your own trial & error. Use other people’s trial & error whenever you can. Unless you’re the first guy to ever use Google Adwords, then you just have to blow a bunch of money to learn lol. But hold on, the errors break most people. So you have to have a GROWTH MINDSET in order to grow from it and not let it break you. And we come full circle to the mission of Impact Theory. BOOM! 8. Tai won’t say who Kobe was trashing, but it was Ryan Kelly. LMAO 9. Be around people who make you uncomfortable at the ego level. Override your mind’s tendency to tell you you’re amazing. Humans learn through osmosis. Be around people who override their mind’s narcissistic tendencies and aren’t the bitch of their own brains – pretty much Tom Bilyeu. Keep watching Impact Theory fuckers. Reps & sets. 10. It’s almost impossible to lecture people into success, but you can inspire people into it. Lambos & Ferraris make 19 year olds read books. BUT … 11. Don’t try to become a millionaire in your 20s. Work on the circuitry part of your brain. Go on adventures. Reprogram your brain. Download other people’s years of experience into your brain. But get out of your house. Go to conferences & events. But don’t do 20 in 20 days. You’ll lose your voice. 12.. Sweep your own front porch (figure out the puzzle of life for yourself) & maybe you can inspire others to do the same. Go through the adventure of life with that mad scientist twinge in your eye. 13. Put $10 into Bitcoin.
