  1. I don't find that cool. The upside down cross is a Christian symbol. A saint didn't feel he was worthy to be crucified on Jesus' level. The Satanic Cross is the alchemical symbol of sulfur. #3 of the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth- When in another's lair, show him respect or else do not go there.

We're Atheistic. We don't hold anyone higher than ourselves. We don't believe or affiliate with anything spiritual therefore we don't contact anyone beyond our reality, we only take part in the carnal aspect of life. We call ourselves Satanists because the character's concept is what the philosophy is based upon. We just don't hold literal belief in him. We partake in ritual though, it is a tool we have the choice of using and it is directed towards the betterment of ourselves. It is a form of theatrical psycho-drama, we're the only ideology that admits it's theater. We relieve ourselves of unwanted feelings and emotion. Sometimes we attempt to make a change in reality that would put us ahead.

Using the representation of the old god's before being demonized it creates a very dark and symbolic theatrical performance that helps those who take part in it to become more focused on whatever they wish and obtain their desires.

LaVeyan Satanists do not perform sacrifices, hence the Atheism, we don't believe in a deity for which we would sacrifice to and our social rules the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth. #10- "Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food." #9- "Do not harm little children." We do have the choice to perform ritual though. We use it as a form of theatrical psycho-drama and to release ourselves of unwanted feeling and emotion. We are the only group that admits our practices are theatrics and not linked to the supernatural. Man has always been interested in dark aesthetics and the occult throughout our history as a species, we see nothing wrong with indulging in this, especially when it can lead to your self betterment. We call ourselves Satanists because the characters concept in the Bible are the fundamentals of the philosophy, most notably seen in the Nine Satanic Statements. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for "psychic vampires". Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual" or intellectual development, has become the most vicious animal of all. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years.

For detailed information on what that is, I recommend you glance at the Nine Satanic Statements. We don't believe in him as a literal being and see all gods as man made and fictional, but this does not render their representations void. We identify with Satan.

Specifically what it means to me is a logical way to show my hatred to the concept or possible literal being of the Christian God by identifying with the adversary.

Satan does bring terrible people to justice in Hell, it's God who sends people there who shouldn't for such stupid reason as enjoying themselves with sin even if it hasn't lead to anyone's harm. Satan was not originally known as the deceiver, he was demonized from Hebrew scripture where he was referred to as the adversary and accuser.

However, ritual is meant to be a very personalized environment based on the performers desires. We believe all gods are nonexistent, but we cannot forget the many cultures of humanity. Lovecraftian gods are no different than Egyptian, Greek, or Roman gods. Once again it is not worship, only the inclusion of their representations for theatrical and psychodramatic use.

Anton LaVey died of pulmonary edema which rendered him unable to speak due to built up fluid in his lungs and he was in a coma for 3 days until he died. He was only surrounded by his close friends who wouldn't dream of ruining his work by releasing a supposed recantation of LaVeyan Satanism as it was their philosophy as well. This lie was spread by specifically Patricia King to the Christian media (or should I just say American media) because she was too weak to challenge the founder of her enemy ideology while he was alive.
