  2. Yeah, I bought a 24' Camry non hybrid. I know Toyota makes the best hybrid systems but I don't want to worry about the hybrid system 20 years down the road. Plus I just simply like the naturally aspirated engines.

  10. A car lift makes a world of difference when working on a car. Could not imagine doing these repairs while on ramps in the garage.

  11. The former, senior Nissan engine builder suggests changing the oil every 2k miles. He says thats when the oil starts to break down and engine wear begins.

  12. I think the start stop technology causes unnecessary wear on engine components. It seems like common sense that the more something is used, the quicker it will wear.

  13. @HeyManny69  yes, you wait until the transmission temperature gets between 95° and 114° then get out of the car and pull the fluid level plug, and then wait until the stream of fluid coming out gets down to a trickle. Then you put the plug back in and snug it down, and your fluid level should be perfect.

  14. @null046  you do not need a lift. The transmission drain plug is only a few feet away from the side of the car. Just do exactly what AMD did in this video, he loosened the leveling plug just enough to where it wouldn't drain. Let the transmission get up to temp, then get out and pull the leveling plug. Let the excess fluid drain until it becomes a light trickle, then put the leveling plug back in and tighten. Yes, jack stands make this easier, but it can be done without jacking the car up in most if not all models.

Can I put a high-pressure fuel pump noise reduction cover from a Lexus onto my new Camry SE? I know that it would most likely not cause any damage but I'm curious if the inbound/outbound lines would be OK? Thanks for the excellent content as always!

  21. Yeah, their 1.5L "earth dreams" is killing their reputation for reliability. Look at the number of class action lawsuits over that engine alone. I've had two 7th gen Accords, the K24 engine was bulletproof. Now, the oil dilution issues are going to end up blowing up in their faces.

  25. This is definitely one of my favorite channels, I just got a 24' Camry SE and I love the car. I'm curious if I should change the EGR valve & cooler along with the antifreeze every 50-60k miles? Just make it part of the maintenance routine? Thank you!

  26. Taking away the transmission dipstick is another negative imo. I read somewhere that backup cameras have reduced backup accidents by 30%. Start stop technology aka starter killer!

  41. I have to disagree, I have a new 24 Camry and the car is extremely well made, an absolute dream to drive. I've had a few early 2000s Camrys and the newest is far better. The thing about Toyota is they rarely change to weaker designs, they continue to improve.

I can do the job but it would be nice to have someone with your experience as guidance. Also, I watched your video that went over the issues Toyota had with the 2018 D4-S engines, have they worked out all of those issues? Thanks again

  50. Camrys holds around 8 quarts of transmission fluid. It's better if you drive awhile in between drain and fills. Did you pin open the transmission cooler bypass, if so where's it at?
