Merry Christmas!
1
Yes, professional mechanics normally don't.
1
It was nice after the hub was removed that the axle slid out perfectly, saving the mechanic and customer a bunch! Not counting the lugnuts, it was far fewer bolts that needed to be removed.
1
The Lauch X431 Elite Toyota specific scan tool is only like $100-$120 and it'll give you your tranny temps plus has all kinds of bidirectional testing capabilities for Toyota.
1
Wouldn't you be braking anyways on a curve?
1
Yeah, these automobile manufacturers seem to forget that half the world is still developing and gasoline is the life's blood of that development. Auto makers need to offer gasoline options for all of their models
1
@michealortiz3350 ooh poor fanboy, you don't tow anything, get over it, Chevy and Ford are no longer great automobile manufacturers. Everyone in the world knows Toyota makes the most reliable automobiles on the planet.
1
@michealortiz3350 poor fanboy, it's not your fault
1
@alexdesamsonow822 enjoy your denial fanboy, Hondas are still great cars, no need to get all butthurt.
1
No transmission dipstick would be one of mine.
1
Yeah, they're basically just a screen that's there to catch "large" material in the event that something major happens inside the transmission.
1
4 extra pounds doesn't change anything, it's a drain plug.
1
@hyoklee3297 just pull up the price through the Toyota app from the particular dealership thats closest to you, and the dealership has to honor that price. You can literally purchase the part you need through the Toyota app while standing at the parts counter and just show your purchase order number to the parts guy and he'll bring it out. I've bought several things and every time, I get at least a 25% discount, some times as high as 40%.
1
@SuperJackster98 use the Toyota app, you get all of the online discounts, at the least, a 25% discount.
1
@Vizenz121_OR any normal person watching a video about a Toyota with over 300k miles would ask, not demand.
1
@Vizenz121_OR Prove it!
1
@Vizenz121_OR prove it! See what I mean!
1
My 2024 Toyota Camry SE is an excellent car, it drives like an absolute dream and is extremely well made.
1
Hey AMD, is there a certain way to do this with a scan tool, just wondering, thanks for the video! I have a 2024 Camry SE and live in Ohio, any time you want to make a video dealing with the 4cyl Camry, please let me know.
1
Change the oil every 3000 to 5000 miles, do not listen to your dealership.
1
He said they fixed the issue on the later model years.
1
Toyota doesn't change anything on a whim. They design something then continually try to improve on those designs. That's what seperates Toyota from other automobile manufacturers.
1
Change it
1
Never seen something so ridiculous as putting a bolt/clamp through a hole in the glass window!
1
Go look, seems like he would've said so.
1
Great video! Most mechanics do not explain why you shouldn't just slam open the butterfly valve, they just say dont do it at all.
1
Aren't you usually braking when getting onto an exit anyway?
1
@forester057 when the debate is lost slander becomes the tool of the loser.
1
Did you watch the entire video?
1
Yeah I watched a interview with the former head engine guy from Nissan. He says change the oil every 3000 miles because that's when today's engine oils start to lose viscosity and engine wear begins.
1
That job actually didn't seem too bad, just a little bit more labor intensive than trying to drag it out thru the top. When recalibrating the sensor, where exactly does the reflector/triangle need to be? Great educational video as always AMD.
1
The overwhelming majority of Lexus/Toyota vehicles are built in the US and they've been deemed the most reliable vehicles for 22 years running. It's not your fault that your dad left, get past it.
1
@mey0mey yeah I think all automobile manufacturers are forgetting who they make their cars for, the consumers. They need to remember that they have customers who specifically buy their cars because they like a powerful, reliable engine.
1
AMD, what did you use to clean the engine bay? Great video!
1
@fhp2b you still spread it with your finger, don't be ridiculous.
1
No sunroof or electronic parking break on my new Camry and I love it! Sharp looking Highlander, the front end and overall style is great.
1
All i want is a scan tool that can give me actual mileage of a used car??
1
Best online educational video on this topic! The Launch x431 elite is the perfect scan tool for this job. It costs just over a hundred dollars, but it's Toyota specific. It will allow all kinds of bidirectional testing.
1
@TheTruelakersfan a drain and fill doesn't hurt anything, a complete flush may harm the transmission. Your transmission holds nearly 8 quarts of fluid, a drain and fill simply replenishes 2.5 quarts of those 8 quarts.
1
When people skimp on the small things, they'll definitely skip the major issues.
1
AMD is a blessing to all DIY Toyota owners, national treasure.
1
Sure pal
1
Us the manufacturer's app and you can get the fluid anywhere from 25-40% off.
1
I just found out my local dealership doesn't have Toyota oil?
1
No, it's designed to do it for a few seconds. It's caused by the few seconds before oil gets into that specific cam gear. When you shut your car off, all the oil drains out of the cam gear. So when you first start it up, it takes a second or two to get oil into those veins in the gear again. That soundbite he played was normal.
1
100% worth it, basically having a new engine installed plus all of the extras. If I ever have engine issues, I will have my car shipped to this shop.
1
Thank you for another quality video AMD, cannot wait for you to do video on changing the pcv valve on the 8th generation Camry. I always like having good visual instructions, especially on removing the intake manifold in order to get to the pcv valve. I've yet to see a good video that deals with replacing the pcv valve on the 8 gens.
1
If you measure the ohms on those spark plugs, thats where youll really see a difference. Toyota spark plugs should be between 4-4.5 ohms. The counterfeit Chinese knockoffs will sometimes go into the 50s! They've been doing this with just about every part you can think of, the ohms test is the clincher.
1
You can buy these from Pacific Industrial for less than half the price as the dealership, same sensor but without the markup. Im pretty sure they are around $45 from the manufacturer(Pacific industrial) and $90 from the dealership.
1
Hey AMD, whats up with the thermal degradation value on my new Toyota and can that value/number be trusted to tell me about the life of my transmission fluid?
