@spacepotato2277 I hate to say it but Diversity is also a factor. Japan is 97% which means a majority of the people are on the same page.

The ABCC11 gene.

You have to be a little lucky to get 80 points. Having a high education gives you a lot of points, Master's, PHD and having gone to an accredited approved university is worth 10 points each. Having a high salaried job, extra points for surpassing the baseline income.

A lot has to do with the language barrier. Japanese aren't good at speaking other languages so they don't want to get caught by a foreigner to speak. Most foreigners are wearing headphones or are glued to their phones now so most Japanese will sit by them because they know they won't have to interact and speak with them.
3
Enjoy yourself, would be my recommendation.
3
The hierarchy of foreigners is mentioned a lot in videos.
3
Triggered!
3
@ToyokaX He interviews people in Tokyo and most of the factory's jobs are outside of Tokyo, he would have to go out to Chiba or Saitama to find these people.
3
@gigithebarberbeauty7146 Lots of people from SE Asia work in these bento packing companies and other work because the lifestyle is better in Japan. It's safer, cleaner and more orderly than countries like Viet-Nam, Philippines and other SE countries.
3
You will never be accepted but you will be tolerated.
3
He doesn't have to go to Okinawa to interview service members, there are plenty of bases in the Tokyo area.
3
Probably military, maybe AFB in Grand Forks.
3
If you are a foreigner living in their country, they don't have to accommodate you.
3
They will get stared at regardless because they are foreigners.
3
People in the military especially living on the American military bases in Japan are basically long term tourists. They live in an American bubble during the week and go out into Japan on the weekends. They spend the week speaking English, interacting with other Americans and living on base in their American style accommodations. Most don’t deal with the Japanese bureaucracy.
3
@MrReese Most Japanese don't click on English videos, they click on Japanese videos. They go to the movies and watch the dubbed version of foreign movies. You are right if a person wants to learn English they will seek it out but most Japanese are content with everything being Japanese.
3
@Rico401Prov Get permanent residence and you won't have to give up your citizenship.
3
@MY-lw7ye He can interview them in Japanese. He interviews Japanese people too.
3
Takashi, I like your reactions when you talk to people.
3
Japanese citizenship is by blood not where you are born. How is she half Japanese if both her parents are Indians?
3
@jodic4823 You can become naturalized citizens of Japan but Japan is a jus sanguinis state. citizenship by blood not birth. She has citizenship because her parents are Japanese naturalized citizens. If her parents weren't citizens, she would not get Japanese citizenship.
3
Written English is taught in schools but Eikaiwa's teach mostly spoken English. Most Japanese can read better than speak English.
3
You need to start protest marches and riots to get their attention.
3
@cjarts6353 There was a BLM march in Tokyo last year.
3
When you changed to a Japanese name, did you also have update your current paperwork, like for bills and other documents?
3
From the bully's point of view.
2
He meant the basics like hello, excuse me or please. I have seen foreigners go up to Japanese and say, What's up? and start talking as if they were back in their known country and then get mad when Japanese people don't understand what they are saying.
2
You should go visit Kyushu, short plane ride from Tokyo.
2
They are saying there is a higher percentage of being accepted. The pool of people in America will have people that are more tolerant than Japan. Not more accepted but a better chance of being accepted.
2
Maybe more of a fan of Ross since they both like Unagi.
2
@gigithebarberbeauty7146 You probably live in a first world country. A lot of these people from third world nations will do any job to escape their situation.
2
Yes, we are all humans but tribalism has been around since the dawn of man.
2
This is what you get with diversity. Japan is homogenous, people were taught and raised the same way. In the US, all races and cultures do things their way.
2
Adapting to the American way of doing things.
2
It's also about the language skills of the parent. If the Japanese parent only knows basic English, they will probably speak Japanese to the child.
2
@cooliipie It's odd because people are used to the noise. It's like White Noise, you only notice it when it's gone.
2
Bullying also happens to full blooded and Japanese looking kids too.
2
It also depends on the tattoo. If you have a butterfly on your shoulder or wrist compared to a huge swastika on your back or Satan on your chest, there's a big difference. Tattoos have been associated with criminals in Japan. The blanket objection to tattoos at pools and onsens was used to keep the criminals out of these places since a majority of the people with tattoos were criminals.
2
I feel a love connection with Takashi and Mariana.
2
@ii4826 The suicide rate in the US is higher than Japan.
2
Most every religion is represented in Japan especially Tokyo. Not a large percentage but still around.
2
I hope you don't think your children won't be discriminated in the US because they will be. America has a race issue and it's getting worse everyday.
2
You will be given a dirty look here and there but most of all you will be furthering the stereotype that foreigners don't respect the Japanese by not wearing a mask while just about every Japanese person wears one. For foreigners it's all about ME and not about the people.
2
I go to Gold’s in Tokyo and I see a few foreigners at the gym.
2
Probably one of the easiest ways to get a working visa.
2
@michaelrespicio5683 A majority of Japanese never interact with foreigners.
2
Japan isn't a birthright nation. Being born in Japan doesn't make you a Japanese citizen. Citizenship is by blood, you have to have a Japanese parent.
2
It’s a general discrimination to keep out a certain segment of people namely the criminal element. They know foreigners with tattoos aren’t part of a crime syndicate but they also can’t just say no Yakuza allowed.
2
@@techr7963 No they are not treated the same.
2
So crime is not very high in America? The media is overblowing that crime is rising? Did Chicago just have 7 people killed during the 3 day weekend?
