@Polo-rn8ly LOL you should have seen what happened to the Swedish Embassy after the Burning of the Qur'an in Turkey... maybe we should ask Turkey to extradite those Turkish nationals too?
1
@Peyp59 It is, other than Canada and the US only European nations are allowed to join.
1
How dare they create defensive alliances against Russia for invading other countries. That is lame, we should let Russia take over the world.
1
LOL at least we can eat them for thanksgiving. Always good with emergency food supply.
1
NATO has never been stronger and more united. Putin brought in the renaissance in NATO and saved the organization.
1
There's no war involving NATO going on. If NATO was involved the war would have been over a long time ago.
1
@abadairshi That's because Erdogan sees terrorists wherever he goes, at this point it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up calling half the world's population terrorist the way he is going.
1
Most Swedes are happy about it though, it got popular support. I guess if you are Russian it's not a good day to be in Sweden though.
1
I think Swedish people would take a military alliance that makes them stronger any day over having Putin as their overlord.
1
They spend 2.1% of GDP on defense already, that's above the requirements.
1
@AliBuba33 Turkey is not even top 5 in NATO when it comes to military spending
1
@GamersRespawnful Turkey is already on good terms with the Russians already buying and selling weapons system to them, if they want to make it official let them.
1
Russia ready for what? Losing more territory to another smaller nation?
1
Hah they cannot even swipe through Ukraine, if they cannot even handle Ukraine how would they handle Germany, or France or Poland?
1
And all nations buying oil from Saudi Arabia, are they also guilty of all human rights abuses being committed by that regime and it's war in countries like Yemen? We do a lot of trade with China too, are we guilty of their human rights abuses too?
1
They have a bad rep they have made a lot of trouble in the countries they go to. Like example in Kuwait they co-operated with Sadam when he invaded the country and in Jordan they started a civil war.
1
They will say please stop while discretely sending billions to Israel and secretly hoping Iran will implode.
1
Of course they do, Saudi and Jordan shoot down Iranian rockets. It's pretty simple Sunni and Shia hate is stronger than hate for Israel.
1
Like most Arab nations in the area, they got oil they are rich. No oil = poverty. Egypt has no oil so they are poor. The rich nations will turn poor once the oil runs out or the world stops using oil.
1
Well bad things happen when you start wars, especially when you lose them. Has consequences.
1
Pretty simple, the leaders know that their countries benefit a lot more being friendly with Israel as it is a western ally and the EU and US markets is a huge chunk of the world economy and it's very beneficial to be on friendly terms. There is nothing to gain being hostile against Israel but a lot to gain to co-operate. Also there is the whole Shia - Sunni conflict going on, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Truth that some don't want to admit is that some Sunni and Shia hate each other more than they hate Israel. Saudi Arabia will gladly co-operate with Israel if it leads to the Downfall of their arch rival Iran. Iran is Shia, Saudi Sunni.
1
Who cares? Who the US recognizes is all that matters. They are the big dog of the block whatever they say goes.
1
@osloqt The real world is pretty simple, if the Arabs were stronger they would own the land that's pretty much it. 1400 years ago the Arabs were strong, they conquered the area and made it their home, then the British came, they were stronger than the Arabs so they claimed the land. Now Israel is strong so they hold on to the land. Maybe in the future the Arabs will be strong again and lay claim to the land but until then it belongs to Israel. You can come with Historical claims and DNA analyses as much as you want, it won't change a thing. Only thing that matters is military strength.
1
Democracy would not work in a place like that. You have to understand it's a culture of clan/family loyalty. Furthering your clans interest over the nation is totally normal so anyone getting into power will fill the government body with friends and family and run it like a family business - not a nation state. They could not care less of what happens to people that are not associated with their clan.
1
Even if they united they would not amount much against individual western countries the US alone has several time bigger economy than all Middle Eastern countries put together.
1
Blackmail? more like offering a bigger cake of the US market = $$$. Money is a lot more important than religion to most of these guys even though they pretend it is not.
1
@Salah_editz786 86% of Palestinians are Arabs, Arabs conquered the area 1400 years ago with the rise and spread of Islam. But yeah let's just add 2300 years to that because it sounds cooler and falsifying history to fit your modern narrative is more important than being factual correct. Their descendants are from the Arabian peninsula, that does not make their claim to the land null and void they have been there for more than 1000 years, just 3700 years that's just blatant lying. At the end of the day historical claims matters little, if the Arabs were stronger militarily and won the war they would own that piece of land no matter what their historical claim is that is all that matters. Israel will continue to control that territory until someone stronger than them will come and take it from them, until then it's theirs to decide what to do with no matter if it's right or wrong.
1
@USA-o5o I will believe it when I see it
1
By Putin himself I heard, with one arm tied behind his back.
1
US and Israel are allies. Friends help each other.
1
Tucker is pretty cool but even he cannot be right all the time.
1
150 people get killed by ISIS terror attacks each year in the US?
1
The only tourism they get from Russia are Russian spies.
1
If you are expecting UN to do sth useful I would not hold my breath. Useless org.
1
Cannot see it being a thing, China just updated its maps and it includes parts of India, which is a BRICS country but now also Russia. You expect these countries to co-operate with each other when they are fighting over territory? Don't be fooled they are keeping up a good face but as soon as things come crumbling down see how friendly they are against each other.
1
Hm? They lifted the arms embargo refused all other demands and said they promise they will take Turkey's concerns seriously that was it lol. If this was about terrorism they did not get anything, all they got was weapons.
1
@theancientsancients1769 I am pretty sure the US foreign department was playing a big role in the talks behind the scenes.
1
@ybggorot1912 Yes, for a lot of Eastern European nations NATO is the only thing that stands between them and Russian occupation. Especially Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia would probably not exist today if they did not join NATO.
1
Everyone is a potential target for expansion for Russia anyway. They won't be missing out much from Russia anyway. 1% of Swedish Energy came from Russia, they have nothing Sweden need anyway.
1
@berkekadircelik6282 You are right it's mostly behind the curtains, Sweden and Finland did not give much, just weapons and a promise that does not really contain any specific actions. More than likely Sweden and Finland was not the real target and Erdogan made a deal with someone else to allow them in. My guess he made a deal with the US and it will be interesting to see if Turkey will be allowed to buy those US fighter Jets before the end of the year.
1
@owindustry Sweden and Finland gave Turkey weapons, the arms embargo is no more and a promise to take Turkey's concerns "seriously". All other demands was refused. YPG will not be a designated terrorist organization, that's a EU matter. Erdogan's Terrorist list of individuals that he wants extradited won't be extradited. Turkey got Weapons and a promise with no specific action tied to it. So yes it would seem it was a waste of time as Turkey did not get much, more than likely Turkey made a secret deal with the US or another NATO member to let them in though. Perhaps they will be able to buy jet fighters from the US soon.
1
@Cartoonwatch11 No, he did not say that. All the individuals on the extradition list that filled the legal requirements for extradition to Turkey has already been extradited long time ago. The ones left on Turkey's list of 33? Individuals have not been proved to be criminals or involved in terrorist activities. Those are the people he said he hoped was not promised to be extradited. IF Turkey can provide evidence so it can be proved in a Swedish or Finish court that these individuals are indeed terrorists then yes they will be extradited. So far most of Turkey's list is just Erdogan saying: "trust me br0" which is enough in Turkey but obviously Sweden and Finland needs proof and evidence before going through with extraditions. There are laws and regulations for extraditions for both Sweden and Finland and there is also EU legislation in the matter to consider.
1
@jupiterbirlesikgezegenleri9884 No, Sweden promised to "look into it" when reworking it's terrorist laws which it was set to do this year even before the NATO application. They never said they would change it and they didn't say which part it would change just that it they will look into it. As what that means we have to wait and see what changes they make and if it has anything to do with Turkey or not.
1
Turkey doesn't have any leverage, the US won't agree to any of it and all other NATO members are getting annoyed at them. In the end Erdogan realized he would not get anything from it and just signed it.
1
@chrismtb5193 Bad news for Russia and it's allies. Good news for the west and particularly Sweden and Finland.
1
@birkangurel1327 Stop spreading misinformation there has been no such promises about YPG PYD and FETO. YPG are both EU and US allies. The arms embargo has been lifted yes. Nothing else has changed.
1
Sure, we are not Erdogan's private police force chasing down all his political opponents though to secure him power for life. That's a matter tied to Erdogan not Turkey.
1
@AB-no7pd At the end of the day Turkey got guns and a promise to take their terrorist concerns seriously. Non of the individuals on Erdogans extradition list is being sent over. More than likely Erdogan had made a secret deal with someone because he really did not get much from Sweden and Finland.
1
@ehatipo4598 This has nothing to do with terrorism Erdogan agreed even though his "terrorist list" of 33 people to be sent to Turkey was refused. He got weapons and that was pretty much it. Probably all he wanted all along.
1
@gurcuball6193 YPG is not a terrorist organization in the EU and is an ally of EU and the US in their fight against ISIS. The whole of EU supports YPG and so does the US, that's a fact.
