It's hilarious watching Styx argue against censorship as someone who he blocked on Twitter.

@117Ender 1. Funny you should bring up the Hitler comparison. He blocked me following an exchange we had in Twitter DMs. In that exchange, he asserted among other things that the Nazis were leftists, so he clearly considers liberals comparable to people who burned books. 2. Where has he mocked them? Are you kidding? Do you remember Ilhan Omar's Israel comments and the Democratic Party's reaction to them? He said it was proof that the left was "imploding." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HxmbjZdWn8

@117Ender I consider it hypocritical because censorship and the act of blocking someone on social media achieve the same purpose, albeit on different scales. The main difference between being blocked by Styx and, say, banning the Christchurch shooter's manifesto is in the reasoning. The manifesto was banned because it was written by a person who killed dozens of unarmed citizens. Styx blocked me because I wouldn't buy his claim that the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter was a communist. If I were threatening his life, he would've had a good reason to block me. But I wasn't, so when he says people shouldn't block out others for having opinions they don't like, I'm going to call bullshit because he can't be bothered to practice what he preaches.

@117Ender Oh, so does that mean the feuding between Trump and establishment Republicans is proof that the GOP is fractured? Or does it only count when it happens to Democrats?

@117Ender Your rape/consensual sex analogy would only work if I had to consent to getting blocked (which I didn't). And the restraining order analogy would only work if I were threatening Styx's life or doing anything that would merit a restraining order (which I didn't). The worst thing I did was ask to see where he gets his sources. Oh, and also, being respectful and civil is a two way street. The last thing he said to me before he blocked me was "Go away leftist, tell peter norway he can suck it." And what did I say that warranted such a response? I told him I didn't believe he was actually a libertarian.

@117Ender I'm saying other options existed. If I were in that situation with someone, I would've just ignored them and let them keep figuratively shouting at a wall.

@117Ender 1. "Very often [Styx] seems troll baiting." I noticed. 2. "The left has gone so far left." Well, that's a rock and a hard place scenario, isn't it? Cuz I remember Democrats being called centrists just a few years ago. So what's their Goldilocks zone supposed to be?

@117Ender 1. "If someone wants to break up with you, do they need your consent?" If you're breaking up with someone, that implies you and the other person got along well at some point or else you wouldn't have anything to break up. Also, to my understanding, break ups usually happen after every attempt to reconcile or in any way mend the relationship has failed. Styx didn't try to be diplomatic with me at any point. But I see where you're coming from. 2. "Which ones were more reasonable?" Forgive me, my standards for what constitutes a reasonable person was skewed somewhat by the Tea Party? Remember? Those people from the beginning of Obama's presidency? With the tri-corner hats, misspelled signs, and complete lack of historical context? That's my bar. Anything over it is reasonable to me.

@117Ender I'm using them to explain the context behind my standards for what I consider reasonable people. Therefore, I fear my ability to answer your question to your satisfaction is skewed by the fact that anyone, Democrat or otherwise, with at least one more working brain cell than Louie Gohmert is reasonable to me.
