5 million dowry? For a receptionist lol? Gtfoh.

Old people are similarly rude. It’s just the culture of superiority because they have a little bit of money.

Asking for 5 million when people making only 3k a month is just pure insanity.

@kamsunleong6648 Nah, most Chinese families definitely have this culture.

@disbeafakename167 It sucks in the US too. Women overvalue their worth there too.

@boitmecklyn4995 Taiwan will sabotage all the machines and burn the SOP before allowing China to just take over.

That’s what happens when you keep totalitarian in power. Those in power keep the best for themselves, shit for everyone below them.

@CJandPJcangivemeaBJ Which is my point - there is no good communism country. None have been able to survive through its failed ideology.

@alexanderharo4550 You must fail to realize that Chinese and Taiwanese are some of the most successful immigrants lol. We just value money highly due to our history of famine and starvation. All governments have hideous debt. China is not alone there.

@Booksaplenty1 Hong Kong is a different case. They have no choice and can’t declare independence like Taiwan can. There is little international support and HK is tiny. They also have national identity with China. Taiwan is smart and made themselves a global necessity requiring the west to protect their own technological capabilities. US has always supported Taiwan and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. We still have aircraft carriers in the region. Plus, majority of the pacific rim and India are not very with China’s encroachment on their waters/borders and raping the natural resources.

@Booksaplenty1 We are talking about immigrants. Many of those restaurateurs are small business owners, a path to wealth. Indians and Chinese both have tons of engineers working in tech, but working for someone can only carry you so far. Doesn’t matter if you’re impressed or not. The statement is not that they have to be top echelon, but success as immigrants. What major India sector can you name that China also doesn’t have?

@Booksaplenty1 I already explain to you their measurement of success could be found in income and home ownership statistics in comparison to other nationalities immigrants.

@mw-sl9vo Don't worry, you'll have dumbasses in the west making apologetic statements about how this isn't true communism and it's capitalism.
1
@Booksaplenty1 How? You can just go look at income and home ownership statistics in “blank” countries. Taiwanese were Chinese before the stupid commies took over.

@Booksaplenty1 I edited to add more, not change any wording. It doesn’t matter who I support since I don’t vote in their elections and I am American.

That’s why Hong Kong people always treated Mainlanders as low class people who have no manners. Especially now that Chinese have money, they feel like they could do whatever they want. Total lack of self awareness and class.

They’ve always known, but tourism is a huge part of the economy and Japanese people are generally too timid to do anything. The Chinese who are terrible are just so bad that they totally stand out. Embarrassment. They don’t realize that they represent their own country when they travel abroad.
