@mrhappy3032 true. The ledger system useful for huge transactions but terrible as a small goods payment system. The processing requirements are so heavy. That's the cost of secure redundancy in almost all cases even with servers. The more fungible the token the less resources required to manage it until fraud becomes a factor. Safe to say the current system rewarding banks for fraud then fining them 1% of their illicit gains is more costly to the publicly, arguably. If energy weren't an environmental concern (with nuclear power plants for eg) btc would be ubiquitous already.

... Not to mention the public ledger is pretty transparent lol
2
Try to access that wallet after an emp or solar flare lol broke over night
2
Al jazeera should've read out the entire 2nd amendment.. Not the right to hold a gun, it's the right for an organized militia to bear arms - like the marines.
2
Hate to say it but Beirut guy has a point, they started by exploiting Lebanon first, it's not fair to force Beirut to protect them from afterwards being exploited themselves.
2
Arms sales are only unethical in cases where weapons are sold to aggressors.
2
Instead of chasing demand for workers wouldn't it be easier to remain economically stable if we stopped chasing professional development? What I'm saying is, can we start letting the market work freely?
2
Absolutely phenomenal! She did so well to emphasize broader perspective while being stern, articulate and graceful. Great job
2
Snowden didn't cause the talks to end, snowden exposing america not fulfilling the contract made it fail lol
2
Battshit Crazy unless you're productive and maintain an inventory of refined raw materials of use to the public at large lol :P
2
Not very... "upfront", this host lol

Allard Freichmann Fully agree. I think the biggest problem with humanity is our nearsightedness. A population so apathetic as to let this happen for this long and come this far, and STILL not care enough to pay attention once every 4 years... i know it's easy for me to say because i'm passionate about it, but I can't imagine not forcing yourself to care at all, which is what so much of the voting public's approach.
2
"That's a tough question... Let me think about that.." YA! Yeah, how about you think about it?
2
Waste of an interview, get a translator. This was pretty brutal to try to listen to, like Ben Carson reading the old testament out loud to a standing audience.
2
John has nooooo idea what he's talking about. Guns have similar smuggling routes, that's why they move with drugs. Making up gun stats is pointless hyperbole. Mental health is not a significant cause of gun violence, that's made up too. Psychosis maybe, but not mental illness. Howard, a basic purpose for government is exactly regulating the potential harm of others while not unreasonably infringing on individual rights. This is exactly what government was established to regulate.
2
"it happens all the time" - where are the stats in favor of saying gun carrying citizens prevent crime. I want to see where these people get that from because in Canada nobody carries guns in public and our crime is way lower. England crime is way lower despite the citizens not walking around with guns to protect themselves from their neighbors. How about promoting community over personal defense?
2
Read my book, promise you'll actually learn something novel.
2
Why doesn't anyone state the obvious? All of these problems could be solved with direct access to the market, ie: the Internet. Connect to buyers, access to valuation resources and agents. With money they build essential services... You know, like how taxes are supposed to work
2
@fishysnake1 I've seen Mehdi tons of times do precisely that. The Oxford debates for example, Donald Trump propaganda as another. He constantly points out the lies and abuses of power in the west, but not with this guest who was there to discuss his own views.
2
Thank you al jazeera for reporting.
2
Whoa what? Shenzhen people drive on the right?! Is it just Hong Kong that drive on the left? I'm so confused

@shaanm6360 I like monero. Hopefully the recent changes help encourage small mining operations to take away clout from pools. That would be ideal

"they're doing things and behaving badly, then break sanctions and choose to be a pariah state. Change your behaviour" Holy reflection batman!

When we allow for the creation of legal entities mandated only to seek profit above all else, an insured oil tanker is primed for self sabotage. Capitalism works but its not the final solution.

"People are... They are happy with it.. *gulp*" - mondejar made me lol

Unreal. The Bible supersedes supreme Court and the UN... Believing in the Bible doesn't give land titles claims validity. Astounding

And drone strikes? Any DAESH idiot with some stolen oil or extortion money... How is America relying on remote controls so carelessly?

How is nobody even bothering to ask whether or not the memo's succinct choice of words was productive in conveying pertinent internal communication? The Trump administration IS inept. There's ample evidence. We're torching an ambassador for accurate use of language as a liason - a position whose utility resides in translating complicated sets of motivations of others in plain language to the public he serves... This is so insane. Trump is an idiot, there's proof everywhere. To call him inept is the most professionally accurate summary of a ton of Trump's actions. Acknowledging Jerusalem for no reason. Dropping the MOAB for kicks and giggles. Never managing to secure a full staff in 2.5 years. The turnover rate. The slew of books from failed employees. His tweets. His lies. His history of criminal abuse and predation. He defrauded an educational institution and robbed the most vulnerable demographic in the process and got elected based on the assumption that he was very smart. He is inept and stupid, and infantile. That's all very, very useful information to anyone speaking to the ambassador who is likely tasked with drafting / negotiating aggreements with this imbecile. "don't use big words. Don't write more than 2 pages. Lots of graphics. Mention Trump's name to keep his attention. Get it on a television for him to watch. He's in secure, interviews over helicopter noise. He's self absorbed, red carpets are a big deal to greet him" Nobody should be fired for speaking truth and doing their job. This is dumb AF.

Obama doesn't care about people but all of his policies (most of which were opposed without Republican even reading the resolutions) have been with an air of humanity in contrast to past presidents who initiate stupid things like patriot act, or that act that's causing all the rancher problems in Oregon calling a controlled burn terrorism. You're just wrong about Obama if you compare him to another president.
1
Amen lol problem solved and economy fixed
1
No, the problem is that it's widely used by the local people and neighboring countries.
1
no, J. D., an investigation by the bureau of investigation is not a tragedy. holy cow, no wonder some white people are so fragile these days. the 1st world melodramas of the powerful are so relate-ably enthralling gracefully removes sarcasm hat

Is al jazeera following me on Twitter now?! :p
1
Logic bomb: you can't blame banks for the financial system collapse for chasing yield in risky assets and then coerce them to lend by threatening to steal their reserves.
1
How often are these people defending themselves to the death with a gun that they have to be so worried about it not firing and killing someone when they want to?!?! What are Americans so damn scared of each other for?!
1
Probably medhi worst interview. "dialogue"
1
If international courts rule France, Britain and USA war criminals but only Trump has veto power would we all stand by and prosecute Britain and France if America washes its hands to pick up a stone?
1
I'm sorry but OPEC limiting production at a time of year they always limit production is just insane. Amrita Sen has an agenda spewing this kind of spin. She knows better
1
they're still working on the IPO... you wouldn't close down nasa for not getting a person to mars yet, would you? they're actively in the process of diversifying, and there's a whole bunch of evidence for it. they're not there yet, but they're starting. ergo, it has nothing to do with their religion stopping them from moving away from oil, that's just racist bullshit based on nothing but a fabricated idea.
1
James Dunn dude, you can type "saudi renewable" in google search and you'll get pages of articles on different initiatives currently under way, such as: Saudi and Japan start renewable energy cooperatives, wind farms in turkey, Saudi's moving to Aramco IPO, plus their solar desalination plant... etc. Make an effort to read something without asking a stranger on the internet to hold your hand. You clearly didn't even try.

This show is the fox of the AJ network. Shameful hype

As a diabetic I'm now injecting myself with the product of a cancer-causing transnational conglomerate...

I love watching Mehdi tear apart white collar psychopaths as much as the next guy, but this issue is just such a slam dunk.. Shouldn't even have given this person a stage
