@WeAreGhuraba I am sorry the system didn't let you include Morris' quote but really it doesn't matter. Benny Morris is not a historian, he's a revisionist who seems to be on the taking. I don't know what country you're from and how laws work there, but I can tell you that here in the USA, a "historian" like that would be likely to stand trial for libel and the revision of history. In Israel, everything goes. Sad.

@WeAreGhuraba I can't give you a response to Benny Morris b/c I don't know what specifically you're referring to. If you can quote it, I'll see if I can but not sure anyway b/c Morris is a revisionist and none of his statements hold true. He couldn't produce one proof or even a credible photo in his book about the 1948 war. So I am sorry but Benny Morris is no authority to me. Thank you

@WeAreGhuraba I am sorry I don't know "much of the history". I guess we all have our limitations, it's only human. Hope you have a good night.

@WeAreGhuraba Makes no difference to me what he supports or doesn't. A historian's job is to do research and present facts as they're known at the time, at least until new evidence pops up. Benny Morris doesn't do that. If he states that there was a cleansing no matter what he thinks about it, he's not a historian. Simply b/c there was no such thing in the history of the State. Thank you.

@WeAreGhuraba If you can provide me w/any evidence, and I mean real evidence, that Ben Gurion said anything to that effect, I'll look into it. Ben Gurion and his party, Mapai, was a leftist party and their mantra was to conciliate and live in peace w/the Arabs and build the country together. There were others in the gov who disagreed, such as Yigal Alon, but he was under Ben Gurion and had no say. Ben Gurion issued an explicit order to the local commanders to encourage the Arabs to stay. He had reasons to think so which I have no room to elaborate on here. 20% of our citizens today are Israeli Arabs, the descendants of those who did indeed stay. Whoever wanted to leave left voluntarily, and there were reasons for that too. Thank you

@WeAreGhuraba I've already replied to this in my previous post. Let me know if you have other questions. thank you

@WeAreGhuraba Ok can you give me the sources of those statements at least so I can look them up b/c my knowledge is entirely different. He wanted them to stay. His concern was the outside enemies, like Egypt, Jordan and Syria. He saw no problem w/the local Arabs although the Arabs clearly saw a problem w/the Jews and fought them tooth and nail. As I said before, some of his gov disagreed and it's possible that some local commanders defied his orders and used force but those were (if there were) isolated incidents. The bulk of the ppl left voluntarily but their leaders decided to exploit it thus turning them into professional victims.

@WeAreGhuraba Do the Arabs have the right to resist? I am not a lawyer so I can't approach it from a legal standpoint, but in my view, resistance by definition means fighting something that was foisted on you against your will. Nothing was foisted on the Arabs. As I said before, they left on their own accord, and now in Gaza they're a free independent state under their own elected gov. That state committed an act of vicious aggression against Israel on Oct 7, and if asking about the right to resist, I'd say Israel has the right to resist this aggression. Israel is the victim in this case and Gaza is the aggressor.
1
@WeAreGhuraba That's exactly right, they willingly left b/c their leaders promised them more. They promised them the entire land free of Jews and their control over it once the war was won. I am guessing Benny Morris forgot to enlighten you on that little detail. I am sorry to be so stupid and unworthy, and I guess we need to conclude our argument at this point. I hope you have a good day.

If she's fed up, don't ask him. If she thinks he's lying and she knows everything for him, there is no point in interviewing him. Mr. Regev, I salute you, but if I were you, I would've ignored those interview requests altogether.
