"What drug addicts are reading reports about the bank of England and getting upset about it?" Ummm, a good percentage of city bankers? They hoover Latin American nose candy up their hooters like a thirsty elephant guzzling at a Serengeti watering hole.
29
Capitalism mate. We'd sell our mums into slavery if there was cash on the table.
28
Walk away from Europe? Are you suggesting sticking big engines on Britain so we can power off into the Atlantic?
26
Or just fire them all when Liz goes and save some taxpayer's cash.
25
The whole point is if the guy who has it hasn't left NZ then it isn't one case - there must be others who it caught it from. So lockdown until full tracing is done otherwise you end up like Australia. Very sensible.
21
Did she try to cull the pensioners last year? Nope. Was Boris. Did she promise Brexit then screw it up? Nop. Boris. Did she leave a husband with cancer for a fancy man? No, Boris did that (with a woman, obviously).
18
So food shortages, no Euro citizenship, creaking employment market, half the country hating the other half and a government run by imbeciles is the 'best thing' in your lifetime? Are you in Moscow or something?
17
Good grief, is this the level we've stooped to? Pretending a posh boy who looks like a grown up version of the kids from Village of the Damned with a binge-eating disorder is somehow cool. Dear, dear me.
17
@romeisfallingagain Imagine in the future British kids reading about 2020-2021... pandemic, Brexit collapse, global warming, idiot politicians, terrorism, revolution and then they find out their grandparents were most obsessed by a Welsh conservative kneeling as a gesture against racism. 'Why didn't you stop fascism and save the planet, grandpa?' 'Well was more worried about some Welsh bloke kneeling because someone on Facebook said he was part of a Marxist plot.' 'I can't believe I'm related to you'. 'You're not. While I was watching GB News your grandma was seeking solace with the milkman'.
15
'apparently difficult'... imagine Andy Pandy was a black rapper or something. Does anyone think we'd be doing anything other than demanding the FBI stick him on the next plane out?
13
Its going to be funny. We get NZ Lamb and Manuka for cheap and the Kiwis get, I dunno, Adele posters? Then our farmers all go bankrupt and appear sad-faced on TV saying 'This isn't the Brexit we voted for!'
13
So GB News is now hating dogs and cats? Good grief.
13
Then we need to massively reduce property prices. This means lower rents or lower mortgage payments. It also means lower rents for business premises which helps the likes of shops stay in business. But we can't do that as lots of Tory MPs are property tycoons or are paid by property tycoons.
13
Trump was a failed businessman, and a bankrupt and a sexual deviant and twice impeached. Farage sucks up to Trump and has a similar nihilistic destructive agenda. So no, we don't need more of that.
13
Because she's a woman? And feminism is all about women? Am I on a news channel or doing a zoom class with special needs gammons?
13
Well if energy prices get uncapped and we go full Texas then perhaps the hordes of freezing people in penury can pop down to Nige's house and he'll invite them in for a cuppa?
13
Make Tory MPs and the rich send their kids to state schools. Then watch them magically improve and be showered with funding almost overnight...
12
Man, GB are really going overboard on this. Dozens of videos in under 24 hours. Definitely an attempt to keep all the other horrible stories away from their viewers.
12
Coronation Street has always been about making working-class women stronger than ever, even if those women were seen as 'low class' by others in the community. Elsie Tanner for example, or Bet Lynch, or Hilda Ogden. And the original creator of the Street, Tony Warren was very, very gay and quite open about it during the 60s when the rest of society... wasn't so open. As for trans... well do you remember Roy and Hayley from nearly twenty years ago?
12
He's basically Charles Manson at this point, only instead of a Helter Skelter race war he wants to spread the Rona and kill off another city's worth of people.
11
Zippy, Bungle and George are British icons. Flying a flag as tribute to them is the least we can do. And Geoffrey. Gone too soon.
11
Tory party don't care about the poor. Do you not understand this yet? Poor war veterans are poor, therefore are unworthy and the bottom of the pile. This is modern Britain.
11
Tory businesses must profit, that is their way.
11
Never mind Isabel, when thousands get sick from it you can go on the telly and say they've got 'underlying issues' and its not really a problem.
11
This is true. Note no one has asked what happened to all the taped 'goings on' that Epstein recorded.
11
"There are increasing numbers of you"... There's even more of us who are monumentally fucked off at propagandists in the press who've spent a year lying and playing this thing down. We'll never forget.
10
So it was remoaners that promised massive benefits then signed a half-arsed agreement that they're not even sticking to? Up to now Brexit benefits have been pretty much zero, unless you're a rich scumbag who made a packet off hedge funds.
9
@eggy1962 Yup. The funny thing is TSMC is probably the most state of the art semiconductor fab company around & of course they're Taiwanese. If was breaks out their facilities will be flattened by the end of the first day.
9
What, crime like when a copper rapes and murders a young woman and women protesting about it get arrested by the police at a vigil? Because that happened a few months ago and we're still not talking about it.
9
Ah, we have our Daily Meghan drivel. I'm not a royalist in any way, but honestly Megs and Harry do not irritate me nearly as much as Andy Pandy getting his mum to pay his legal bills.
9
That's what happens when you vote Tory. They don't care, they have Bupa.
9
Yes rich people are hypocritical scumbags.
9
@bronte6364 No, its perfectly logical. They have no idea where this guy got it from so there could be lots of cases. If they leave it a few weeks the cases blow up and then you have an Australia-style situation. Think of when Sars came out and they were checking people on planes etc. They didn't go 'Oh we may as well wait until there's thousands of cases', they went in early... and succeeded.
9
@joejoe7702 'Every expert' doesn't, that's spin the British press is doing to cover up our disastrous approach. You can easily get covid down to levels so low its not a big deal, like we've done with other viruses. I bet you haven't met anyone recently with Polio or Smallpox have you? Viruses will still usually exist somewhere in an animal reservoir, but not bother humans much if we're careful - see bubonic plague that still pops up occasionally in the US (bacteria but same principle). For a modern example of a virus that could have been a monster, read up on Hendra virus in Australia. They got onto it quick and so far there's only been a few cases even though its potentially very, very nasty.
9
They are, that's why they've had 25 deaths from this thing and we've had 130,000.
9
We signed a treaty. We are not sticking to that treaty. Do you understand International Law, bro?
9
So the Tories have lost two by-elections in a few weeks. There may be a bit of a message there for Boris, but he won't listen and will just crank up the clickbaity culture war stuff in his media outlets.
9
I think killing more people than Hitler in the Blitz will do that.
9
"Working benefits, tax credits" - Nige, the key is in the words. Read them closely. 'Working benefits, tax credits' means they're doing jobs. Hence working in return for renumeration but as this is Britain many jobs pay little money and require benefit top-ups. Now perhaps you want to kick them out and have the jobs done by, I dunno, Tory MPs? GB News presenters when they all get fired soon?
9
Imagine voting for Boris who has literally messed everything up then sneering at Corbyn. Who if you recall was against the Iraq war when all the Tories were flag waving (ditto the Blairites).
8
What hysteria? Everything 'project fear' said would happen is happening.
8
You want the military to have a coup against the most successful democratic leader in the world? Blimey, what's wrong with everyone?
8
@PatFleck So how do you ignore the EU and not Europe? Your brain is definitely scrambled mate.
8
Don't be a muppet. No one was even using the term 'woke' in Britain in 2019. The 'anti-woke' stories appeared just after Boris was elected. They are fodder to keep the populace angry which Boris wrecks everything.
8
No we don't. Remember 1939-45? Yeah, no more of that please.
8
Very good. Indeed our MPs should be able to do their jobs with no threats of violence. Now can we do the same for doctors, nurses, shop workers and the thousands of women who get raped every year? Can we let them live their lives with some manner of security?
8
Right, now try telling that to wealthy Tory voters who don't want any frakking/wind turbines/panels/nuclear near their hices for fear of property prices dropping.
8
Yep, this was pointed out at the time. There's no 'free market' with utilities as they're a strategic essential (like the Army, say) & actual competition doesn't really exist. So they created a fake market where pen pushers resold power and the results were predictable.
8
Boris doesn't care about anyone.
8
Is the camera terrible, or has Ryder recently been staring into a nuclear explosion?
