  22. ⁠ @davidz3879 London transport, The NHS, British Rail, The Royal Mail all set up recruitment offices in the Caribbean. Barbados government loaned people the money to pay for their tickets. London Transport put up workers in accommodation near to where they worked. If that wasn’t being invited then I must be making it up, the only problem being that I worked for the railways for nearly 4 decades and when I joined lots of the original supervisors and duty managers were from the Caribbean with some being benefactors of those jobs. That plus my wife’s Mother and grandmother being on the boat and signing up to work for the NHS as a midwife and nurse in one of Londons hospitals. That’s the facts David. I don’t mind people having an opinion but you lot seem to be so annoyed with immigrants that you pile out rubbish comments each and every time.

  24.  @mwd331  Quite a lot of news in the media about B.A. Still paying its senior staff their high wages through the pandemic although most bonuses were not taken. Either way these problems are being caused by them laying off fully trained staff which no longer want to work for a company that didn't care for them at the time with the added bonus of no longer having the ease of employing people from Europe thanks to Brexshit. Maybe the patriots can start taking holidays in the UK now.....

A high percentage of applicants don't get through the initial tests and then there's at least 12 months of training and route knowledge. Working with high voltage and safety systems also means its more involved than some LBC presenters on 6k a day would have you believe.

Network Rail doesn't pay shareholders but gives its senior staff up to 20% of their salaries ( CEO on £588k ) All your silly comments on train drivers salaries should be pointed in another direction SA, after all these are the men and women that move the trains and allow these fat cats to coin it in.
