Better a long video with this well explained then short and bad explained;)
55
Always like your video's Dorian. You always explain things very well.
29
A master at work;) Not using Gentoo, but was interesting to watch anyway.
16
For me open source is better because W10 broke on me last year and I had to install Peppermint. Second best thing I did in my life after quiting smoking 14 years ago. Have a great weekend Dorian;)
13
There is one person that absolutely hates Manjaro, Joe Johnson. Don't like the green. I would go for Adwaita dark.
6
Rock on Rocky;)

A master at work.

You should contact Michael Tunnell (TuxDigital) about your monitor problem. He knows a lot about KDE and Plasma.
5
Reminds me a lot of W10 taskbar;)
4
And drank a beer after that to get rid of the soap taste;)
4
Yes MX 17 and Kubuntu.
4
You would be a guy after BigDaddyLinux (Rocco) hart. He likes Gnome too;) Arch forum not for newbies because of RTFM, but Arch wiki is great. Arco Linux by Eric Dubois for a newbie new to Arch too, because of all the tutorials he does.
4
I had to wash my mouth with soap to get rid of the bad taste in my mouth.
3
Congrats ooooon the 1000! To Peppermint or not to Peppermint, that' s the question;) I don't like Peppermint, I love it! Have a nice weekend Dorian.
3
cheers!

For only $199 it's a nice laptop. Happy new year Dorian and if you can join BDLL again.
2
Nice one Dorian. LIked the smash button;)
2
Congrats with 500 aaaaand 1 subs. I like to be surprised, so surprise me. I'm not a gamer, just interested in Linux and how to use it, that's why I subbed to your channel and to different others.
2
@Doriandotslash According to Alan Pope of Ubuntu you always should use swap, even if you have enough memory. He explained it on a Big Daddy Linux Live episode once.
2
btw I still use Peppermint. Nice to hear and see a video from you again Dorian.
2
Very nice, but noting beats my Peppermint;)
2
Long time not seen. Wellcome back;)
2
sudo apt install-gnome-tweak-tool;) Strange that it isn't installed by default.
2
Tried it once, but very slow and none ot them actually worked, so next;)
2
Great tutorial Dorian. I have nothing to backup.
2
btw I use single click;) Does it come with the dark theme they were working on yet? Or do you still need the tweak tool to enable it?
2
Best wishes for 2018 and happy holidays. 2017 was a very bad year for me personally. Best thing it brought me was Peppermint 8 and since monday the Respin.
2
brrr it's cold where you live. I don't have a request I just like to watch video's by different users/reviewers and what they use and do with Linux, since I'm very new to Linux. Used it for the first time last year when I couldn't boot up W10 and couldn't fix it. I had downloaded and burnt Peppermint 8 on a usb stick. Don't ask my why I chose Peppermint, because I really don't know. Maybe it was the name. Anyway I was amazed at how easy it installed on my 2013 HP Sleekbook and worked. I can do everything I could do with Windows and don't miss it at all. I'm not a gamer, just internet , email, American Football and some tv series. But enough about me.
2
Nice, but nothing beats the Pepp;)
2
Intel 620 with the script to fix screen tearing wich I found on the Peppermint forum.
2
When you install for instance Thunderbird with the command line or with Synaptic, you get the old version of Thunderbird wich is 52, but 60 is already available. I downloaded it from there website like I did with Firefox (I always use the beta), so I always get the latest versions.
2
Yes it was me who mentioned it;) Downside of a rolling release. If you know what you're doing you can use it. Me for instance don't and that's why I'm on the Pep. Me I'm more of an inside guy. It's to hot to be outside.
2
It's a work in progress, so I know you will get it right;) I like the Liberation sans regular font.
2
Time the one thing you can never have enough off;)

Thanks for the tip. Have a nice weekend.
1
Very nice, but if I was a new user that wanted to try KDE, I would go for Kubuntu.
1
On my Sleekbook I used touchpad indicator to turn the touchpad off. Looks nice, but with Adwaita dark even better. Are you familiar with Arco Linux by Eric Dubois? Based on Arch too.
1
Not a fan of the standard Ubuntu. If I would go with Ubuntu, I would go with the Budgie or Mate version.
1
Good luck with your Manjaro. Speaking of broken updates, have you seen English Bob's Calculate video? He had everything set up as he wanted, but when he did a update, his Calculate was bricked. He forgot to backup. All his hard work for nothing. He forgot one of his own rules. Hard lesson to learn. Have a nice weekend Dorian;)
1
Very informative.
1
Congrats with the new born and the new position at work. I hope wife and baby are okay.
1
O and being a father too. Congratulations!
1
I guess if it's what you really like to do, it doesn't matter as much;)
1
Okay take care;)
1
@Doriandotslash It's taking them a long time to finish it. Is the tweak tool still removed with each new version like it was before?
1
@Doriandotslash Biggest downside of the OS. It should be user choice, but on the other hand that's what you can expect if you go with Elementary.
1
Congrats on the new job.
1
Yes. This is the successor of systemback? I believe that you can still use systemback, but it isn't updated anymore?
1
You're a brave man Dorian;) And wellcome back. I've missed your voice. Did not do Arch. To difficult. Peppermint is so much easier and quicker to install.
1
It's pronounced Gnome not Nome. See Destination Linux episode 64. Don't like Gnome personally. I use one panel with everything I use pinned on it. Don't like plank or dock.
