You really know your stuff Dorian. Was nice to watch. Good luck with the baby. I hope everything goes well.

About Gentoo, maybe you can do a review of Calculate Linux too? I use the beta of Firefox and I use compact too, but with the titlebar unticked, so the tabs, minimize, maximize and close are on the same bar like in Windows.
1
Don't use any you mentioned, but OpenSuse I would like to see.
1
DorianDotSlash must have missed that😉

Awesome! Very useful.

Cool backgrounds: https://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/any/ And bing.com for the picture of the day. With Firefox you can save them to use as background and without the Bing logo on it.

Your very own distro. Cool. I like the name too. Reminds me of the Toyota Scion car models (wich never were available in the Netherlands bytheway). Looks very nice, the fonts looked blurry in the video, but I imagine you can set it on slight instead of full? And it needs a dark theme. Or is there an option in customization? But it's still a work in progress so it can only get better, I believe. Definately would give this a try, but Peppermint does everything I need and I tend to stick with what works. Good luck with it;)

Congrats Michael!

Background music is to loud especially in the beginning of the video. I have tearfree enabled on my HP, wich fixed the screen tearing on Peppermint 9, wich I'm currently on. Installed it friday evening. I believe I mentioned this before, DistroTube used Manjaro KDE, but had some issues too and removed it from his main machine. I use the Dark reader extension on Chrome and Firefox. Gives every website a dark theme. Not for everyone I know, but it's very easy on my eyes, so;)

All your hard work paid off. It's looking better and better.
1
All your hard work is beginning to pay off. Breeze window borders are nice. I'm a big fan of the Breeze dark theme, but on Peppermint I use the Arc dark theme. After being on Windows for so long, I don't light themes at all anymore.
1
It's difficult, because there are some very nice themes available. My favorites: Arc, Breeze, Adapta and Adwaita dark.
1
Great little tutorial. Bytheway have you fixed your dual monitor problem you had?
1
Yes I knew that, but did you contact Michael from TuxDigital?
1
DorianDotSlash o okay. He does a liveshow on YouTube on saturday. Maybe you can join and ask him directly?
1
@Doriandotslash Not anymore. Debian Xfce it's now. Peppermint wasn't Peppermint anymore since the Mark Greaves passed away in 2020.
1
@Doriandotslash Wife and child okay?
1
My condoleances Dorian;)
1
Donation made to soften the loss;)
1
@Doriandotslash as long as it's available, I guess I am yes😁
1
@Doriandotslash 8pm EST.
1
Yes they are.
1
@Doriandotslash Maybe you can join Euro BDLL this saturday.
1
Micheal of Tux Digital has a weekly gnunews edition and I skip the games part, because it doesn't interest me.
1
Okay cool!
1
Not about the flickering, but about your multi-monitor problem on KDE.
1
Yes he does Dorian. Check out BigDaddyLinuxLive if you can. He does every saturday night at 10:30pm est. Great show you really enjoy it.
1
Great video. Thanks for making.

Main reason for me to switch from Chromium to Firefox is that awful new look of Chromium. I absolutely hate it. And I'm so used to Fx, it's hard to change it for another. On Thunderbird there is no option to untick the titlebar, but you can enable the same look as on Fx, but double clicking on mail.tabs.drawInTitlebar in config editor to set to true.
1
No and the round corners of the adress bar and the tabs aren't black when using a dark theme.
1
Looks nice, except for the black theme. It's to black. Always chose the default instead of the black when I was using W10.
1
Well said Dorian. Read the fecking manual;)
1
I have the titlebar ticked off on Firefox, but can still resize Fx. No need for alt rightclick. But alt rightclick is way easier to use than the traditional way, because no need to go to a corner or the bottom of the window.
1
Firefox 63 beta 8, but it's the tarball. I use the tarball, because the PPA beta won't always update. On Thunderbird I can do the same. Thunderbird is a tarball to, but the stable version.
1
Peppermint 9 yes.
1
Agreed. They could have said could you remove the word beta please?
1
Looks nice, but I don' t like docks or planks.
1
Yes on my Peppermint 9. I know it was aimed at the new user. It was meant more as general information. Thunderbird 60 isn't in the Ubuntu repo's yet, so that's why old version.

Only your revenue isn't up. It´s a pity you don't have PayPal. Now and again I donate, but Patreon is not for me.
1
Think about it, maybe I'm not the only one who wants to donate, but doesn't want to use Patreon.
1
I understand.
1
All your hard work paid off;) Not gonna test it myself, I'm just interested in different operating systems and like to watch these kind of video's. Good luck with Scion and take care.
1
Dash to panel my choice. Tiling is nice on Pop because still minimize and close buttons on the windows.
1
@Doriandotslash I just tried Pop OS and tried dash to panel. Looks very nice and you can add things to it. I always use the beta's of Thunderbird and Firefox, but I can't make a link of them to put them on the desktop. I could not open Firefox. Thunderbird I could, but only once. Otherwise Pop looks very nice and easy to use. But it uses a lot of memory compared to Peppermint.
1
Derek from DistroTube tried Manjaro KDE too. Didn't like it that much. To many issues.
1
If you like Arch, check out Arco Linux by Eric Dubois too;)
