3 things contributed to the "economic" boon that followed ww2 - 1) the rise of unions, 2) the G.I. bill which funded college for returning service men and 3) low property values and interest rates. of the 3, since the Reagan era, only the G. I. is still functional to any degree and that has little impact on society. the G. I. Bill alone wasn't any solution. only in conjunction with the other 2 would any of them have any positive impact.

+Cam... yes, that's what capitalism is. but its best updated as the "divine right of the elite." it doesn't matter what that elite is called, royalty, as in the old monarchies, party leaders, as in the old soviet union or china, or venture capitalist, who rule the world today. its ALL the same - an elitist system, often calling itself democratic, while enforcing the elitist will and protecting their wealth and privilege. i talk about this on my channel quite often.

yes, the fascists have done an excellent job in re-branding their intent through misinformation and perfidy. they lost ww2 but are now taking over the world. they've redefined nationalism into patriotism. they demonize socialism by misrepresenting it as "centralized govt economic planning" and the "redistribution of wealth." when the reality is capitalism is centralized corporate/banking economic planning and the true redistribution of wealth. capitalism takes YOUR money and gives it to the elite. that's how the elite accumulate mass fortunes. and capitalism relies on BIG GOVT to do it; enforce the elitist will and protect their wealth and privilege. the elite want the govt out of THEIR way not out of YOUR way. and the elite aren't even loyal to one govt or nation. and this is what the fascists have somehow convinced multitudes of people as patriotism - elitism, nationalism, capitalism and authoritarianism.

@miamidolphinsfan … don't forget the monarchies of Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands. these so-called "socialist" countries all still have monarchies in conjunction with an industrial, private sector elite. which proves these countries aren't socialist at all but practice Keynesian capitalism. true socialism and an elitist social hierarchy of any kind can't co-exist within the same system. you either have one or the other - egalitarian socialism or elitist capitalism.
