I don't really see the target demographic being one that would support large enough sales figures to make a rifle economically feasible. The kind of folks who are going to buy this gun are the kind who would have bought a Glock 19 or (in earlier decades) a K-frame .38 revolver, except they are really concerned with instant access with total access control. These aren't the kind of folks who are typically going to think of a rifle for home defense... Although it would be easier to engineer the biometric stuff into a long arm, simply because you have a much larger space and weight budget for the widgets. Ambi sensors? Sure. Fingerprint sensors on both the grip AND the forearm? Sure. Simple LED indicator on the front sight, plus a status screen in the side of the stock where you won't even see it when you're trying to use the rifle, but its instantly available when your "admin"? Sure. Backup CR123, AA, or even 9v or C cell batteries in the stock that you can just swap out once a year, just in case the charger or rechargeable battery craps put? Sure.
