Right at the centre of it all is education. That is where the indoctrination starts.

Ok. I get it. Erase a country's history. Upset the cultural balance. Step by step remove all the things that create a person's national identity. Create a supra national world government.

Thanks for saying that Peter. I'm sick of hearing politicians saying "We won't let this change the way we live" after an attack while immediately demonstrating that is exactly what has happened. Politicians need to grow backbones, fast.
81
Really enjoyed this. An intelligent conversation about conservative principles. Won't expect to see anything like this on the BBC.
69
Peter Whittle needs his own GB News show.
66
Part of the problem is that the right is passive and reasonable and the Left are highly active an destructive. The right needs to stop being so apologetic about history, culture etc. Time to speak up.
63
I agree with a lot of this but it does feel that mostly we're on the defensive with these arguments. Democracy was fought for, freedom was fought for, we seem to have moved into this space where we let our opponents set the terms of engagement, as if defending our civilisation, the one all the immigrants flock to, is somehow beneath us. Our ancestors would be ashamed by our unwillingness to stand and fight for our principles.
62
Post modern society has lost its way. There's no belief in any of the old traditions or certainties. The uk thinks it's being progressive, it's not progressive to be the first person walking blindfold through a minefield. But then we don't have 'leaders' these days, just interchangeable careerists.
56
I'm glad Mike was able to say this. But we'll know we're making progress when you don't have to start any discussion about immigration with "I'm not a racist but..." The facts are the facts and the numbers are the numbers.
56
I think Tim makes somes very good points about the Conservative obsession with tax cuts. There are, frankly, bigger social issues that need considering. Something I can't stand is the phrase "I'm fiscally Conservative but socially Liberal" by which they usually mean I want to make lots of money, not be taxed, and snort cocaine at dinner parties. To me, none of that is responsible Conservatism. That's selfishness wrapped up in a convenient ideology.
56
Far right extremism...a couple of old guys sitting in a pub talking about Mrs Thatcher. Islamism, countless murders, burnt churches and beheadings. "The religion of peace".
49
@truecinnamon Like so many YT commenters you are plain ignorant. From WW2 the BBC was a byword for honest reporting. All around the world the BBC's many foreign language stations were regarded as as near to 'the truth' as you could get. This reputation was built on the work of brave and honest BBC reporters and was very much seen as the counterpoint to Communist propaganda from the 50s to the 70s. Unfortunately recent generations of BBC reporters have squandered that reputation and now, quite frankly, it's a sad joke because it's potential to do good as an honest voice has been compromised.
49
They won't just insult you, they'll try to smear and destroy you.
47
I thought this programme asked a lot of good questions but part of the problem is these old men in leather armchairs trying to reason their way out of trouble. The Left want to bring everything down, all our history, and the greens want to take away our cars and foreign holidays. Old men sitting in leather chairs are no threat to the Left. People have to start getting ugly. Putting their collective feet down and saying, "This is ours and you aren't going to take it away from us". Virtually everything is paid for by the millions of working class in this country and we need to stand strong.
44
The upside to this is that a lot of people who like Clarkson but really didn't accept the reality of Cancel Culture can now see exactly what it means. There are people who have been cancelled for just saying what a woman is, IMO Clarkson went too far in his article but he can now see what's going on. He could become a useful anti- woke commentator on GB News or TalkTv.
36
I don't care what people say. You have to stand up for what's right. People need to stand their ground.
35
The conspiracy of silence says everything about the cowardice of the so called authorities.
34
Compare the media's reaction to the death of one middle class woman, Sarah Everard, with their reaction to the abuse of thousands of working class girls at the hands of Asian pond lifes in the north of England. All those Middle class home counties feminists have been very quiet about it too.
33
It feels like s decision has been made not to rock the boat for fear of stirring up unrest. Unfortunately these girls are the price the Establishment are willing to pay. It's shameful.
32
I had to look up who that Jones woman is. Painfully unfunny, riding on a wave of sympathy for her disability. Emotionally immature.
31
I was speaking informally to a teacher recently who said exactly this. They will never be happy, the demands will keep coming. At some point you have to say we're not going to play that game anymore because the NHS, education etc could swallow up unlimited amounts of money forever, and it will never be enough.
27
When the pursuit of power is the only reason for a party's existence, you know that it is intellectually dead. Kemi is the best hope for the future. Anyone with any sense realises this, which is why the majority of Conservative MPs have no idea.
27
And we let them, that's the tragedy.
27
They're probably holding that back, let the fuss die down then mention it in passing. Don't want to inflame tensions, do we? Conceal the truth, as always.
26
Martine Barnard-Delaroche I hope you can see the irony of these elderly scholars immersed in history while a very dangerous 'war' is going on around them. They appeal to reason, to the rules of the game when the enemy have no interest or regard to rationality or any set of rules. This is all about the fight for power and these guys are doing next to nothing to win that battle. Well, maybe a couple of them grasp the significance. But this is real. Damage is being done and it will no doubt be the foot soldiers of the working class that will sort things out again. They are not embarrassed about being patriotic, they are not too embarrassed to say they want this country to protect it's hard won freedoms. Doesn't it intrigue you how all the high institutions have so easily fallen to this Woke ideology. All the educated classes that inhabit these offices have surrendered without a metaphorical shot being fired. It's just pathetic.
26
Cary B Socialism is ruthless. When the enemy is gone they turn in on themselves. It's a deeply nihilistic 'religion.'
25
Funny, because from my standpoint I see exactly those people as the enemy within. The working class are the sound beating heart of this country. When they talk about "boots on the ground", 90% of the time it's a working class guy wearing them. It seems that it's always the same people getting us into trouble and always the working class heroes getting us out of the mess that has been created. We need to use our collective strength, and true patriots can cut across Party lines, to fashion a system that works for us not them. This may enrage some, but here goes, my descendants did not fight in two world wars to allow a grovelling excuse for a King to travel round the Commonwealth apologising for this small country, who made a huge difference to the world as we know it. All the Commie lawyers, journalists and pundits need to be sidelined in favour of a new 'intelligentsia' (to steal a term) that talks our achievements up, not down. We need to re-connect to our history and make Britain great again. Our glorious past tells us we are the people to do it.
24
100% correct.
24
@jasoncornell1579 What's so interesting is the assumption that by means of their innate intelligence and superior education this class of journalist will have god like wisdom that will lift them above common partisanship. As it turns out, they have no such wisdom and are just as biased as the despised 'ordinary people'.
24
People will fight for something they feel part of. Britain has been sold out to half the Middle East and International finance. Why would any much vilified white British male give his life for people who hate him? The woke crowd get all the attention, not a single one would fight for this nation.
22
Peter is correct about many things, but if you're going to defend the two party system, as he does, you can't complain if that dynamic creates a Trump or a Farage. These candidates are the outcome of the system, and perhaps in an ideal world there would be a traditional Conservative to vote for, but we only have Nigel to fight for some kind of change. So rather than sneer at him I think Peter needs to be a bit more positive about someone who, at least, represents a clear step away from Starmer and the potential horrors hidden away in his Pandora's box of political and social policies.
22
The people that get drawn into this Woke crap are not people who do real work, van drivers, builders etc. They are the teachers, admin staff, social workers, the people that think they're 'educated' but are in fact mentally weak and easily influenced. Sad to say, many politicians fall into this category. The fight back will come from the strong of mind, the people regarded as 'ordinary', the people who have a real sense of identity. Those were also the people that kept everything going during Covid. The backbone of society.
21
I'm guessing but I'd suggest one of Calvin's parents is white. If you were born in Africa and your father was black, I could see how you might feel Africa was your homeland.
19
You won't find it on the BBC that's for damn sure.
18
@OnlyElshafto Which has only increased since the SNP decided it needed a constant anti English narrative to shore up it's support. All this while sponging up tons of English money and presiding over ever declining standards in health, education etc.
18
99RedPills GoBy I think they pointed out that the Conservative party fell prey to wokeness nearly 20 years ago. That's why major surgery is needed. This has all moved on beyond left and right, much of the 'Red Wall' have been lifelong Labour voters.
18
@hannahtattoo 100%. Those young white working class guys should go and fight to defend a bunch of pacifist trustafarians that hate them? I hope not.
18
This only gets solved by the government growing a pair and confronting the race issue in the uk today. And I don't see anyone ready to do that unfortunately.
18
But the people that enforce these ideas have no objective science to back them up. It's all word play.
18
As bad as this government is, how much worse would it have been if Corbyn, Benn, Butler and Abbot had got in? So it's the better of 2 bad options. I have a feeling that Nigel F is planning a comeback. The way he's been pushing certain issues on his YT channel looks like he's building something from the roots.
17
The Chinese have absolutely seen through this Woke madness. They don't need to attack the west because the west is busy destroying itself with its diversity and equity agenda.
17
People need to stay in their own countries and sort out their mess. Not move to another country and bring it with them.
17
I've been criticising Reform's Richard Tice. All he does is talk. I thought he was a dynamic entrepreneur. We will need a very active organisation to fight back from where we are. Westminster has sold us out. In the US they're building a new Conservative infrastructure. We need to do the same.
16
In politics timing is everything. I think the time is right for a party of national renewal. That would mean cleaning out the civil service, education, all the big institutions that have succumbed. We could even deport Lineker to Pakistan TV.
15
@shrunkensimon Apparently behind all the high tech prestige projects there are power failures, flooding, sanitation problems. A myriad of issues China choses not to show the world. Like most authoritarian regimes.
15
In the USA a 'white supremacist' is anyone that believes in hard work and getting to appointments on time. Both, sinister manifestations of 'Whiteness'. You couldn't make it up.
14
I have a horrible feeling that paedophiles will be next on the list for glorification by the Progressives. The process seems unstoppable. All sorts of mitigating factors will be brought in and it will be spun that our prejudice is the worst crime for these 'oppressed' people.
14
I enjoyed de programme. Unlike Julia Hartley Brewer, these chaps actually understand the Donald Trump phenomenon. The Donald Trump question, among right wing journalists, is like the 'Can you define what a woman is?' among the political class. You either see the bigger picture behind him or you don't, but instead, obsess about about certain lewd remarks, while at the same time semi excusing Bill Clinton's philandering because of his charm and statesmanship. All of which are somewhat of a myth.
14
If a man can just identify as a woman there is no need for the word 'trans'. He just is. Of course it's rubbish, there's no internal logic at all. If a man can just 'be' a woman why would you need to have all kinds of surgery? Evidently they don't really believe that so they have to create a 'performance' of a woman. So, fake. Just dressing up.
14
They're called 'plod' for a reason. As this clip demonstrates.
