  6.  @loulakion  no as in you can't claim an archipelago because it is off shoot on the continental shelf. Turkeys claims revolve on meis island blocking turkeys Mediterranean maritime navigation and blocking EEZ from potential natural resource sites in the Mediterranean Sea. And maritime security in the aegean especially for civilian trade and naval navigation. İ think meis island issue will be resolved in the upcoming greek turkish negotiations but the aegean part is a massive issue. Turkey is not alone in not accepting it. No nation in that circumstance would. Similar situation happens in south china sea.
