Comments by "bakters" (@bakters) on "“Hitler privatized the industries” is ridiculously misleading" video.
@hagoryopi2101 " If you're the only person on the island " I own it. Everybody else works for me. What now? What's the difference between owning a property and owning a state?

@noahL3654 Still hiding. Still avoiding the answer to a rather simple question.
2
@noahL3654 " you’re proving my point " I remember when I used to know everything too. Then I learned something. " you asked the other guy a question too " What's wrong with that?
2
@hagoryopi2101 " already answered your question " No, not really. I own the island, people work for me. Consensually. Work with that assumption. " others did not consent to your decision but you enforced it anyways, then it's not private " I decided to fire and kick out some lazy guys and they didn't liked it. According to your logic, it makes my island not a private island. Which is nonsense.
2
@noahL3654 " you denying established definitions " I'm not denying it. I'm asking what is the difference between owning a property and owning a state? If your definitions is both good and well understood, go ahead and use it. Then answer my question instead of trying to dodge it.
2
@noahL3654 " I don’t know what to tell you. " I know.
2
@hagoryopi2101 " They negotiated terms with you " Who's to enforce those terms on my island? Someone I don't like, therefore I tell him to get lost?
2
@hagoryopi2101 I read all that and I still can't see any fundamental difference between private property and privately owned state. " revolution in absence of other options [...] The options are endless " Either-or, it seems to me. " because this is fiction. " Is it, really?
2
" they are public actors " That, assuming that a state is a public activity. It can be that, but you can very easily argue, that tyranny is a private enterprise. A totalitarian state is even more private than a typical tyranny.
1
@noahL3654 " public property is defined as property owned by the government " So if a tyrant decides he owns all the property in the country, it still counts as "public"? Cool, I guess. " A state can’t be private that violates the idea of what private property means. " What if a guy owed a lot of land and decided he will govern himself (which did happen a lot)? What then? Is he still a "public" actor?
1
@noahL3654 " *Governing yourself is different from governing a state. * " I own an island, I decided it's fully mine, independent. How is it different from owning a state?
1
@noahL3654 I know that you are hiding behind definitions, which I'm supposed to look up. How about simply answering my question?

@hagoryopi2101 " even after a revolution, there's so many directions things could go " We've had revolutions before. Not that difficult to predict, that one elite will be replaced by another. " What point are you trying to make? " That libertarian capitalism is yet another utopian idea. That we protect property rights, because it benefits us, not because they always work and can never go wrong. They very much can. Owning people is one such case. Regarding my views, I did political compass at some point. Very close to the middle, with a right side bias. (Which makes me "far right" in currently promoted landscape, but that's another story.)
