@lukaswilhelm9290 Ah fellow Indonesian, finally. So many chinese here are biased. They enjoy life in Indonesia & Malaysia, able to enjoy equal career opportunity, even allowed to become important figure in politics & business. Unlike how the Han Chinese treat Uighur or Aboriginal Taiwanese (Ming & Qing Dynasty).
24
@aaronlimeuchin7352 Not diverting the fact that most of Malaysian communist rebels are Chinese and it even got support from Mao Zedong (not Soviet). Majority the founders of Communist Malaysia were: Chin Peng, Lee Meng, Lau Yew, Yeung Kwo, etc
22
@malakatan3235 I'm a non muslim but cringed so much at your unloyalty as an Indonesian. I saw your comments everywhere being pro-P.R.China. Kinda ironic too that you people accusing NU. I have muslim cousin and he is in NU. NU is now actually the most tolerant & moderate muslim movement in Indonesia, they even guard our churches & temples from terr0rists attacks. Compared to HTI and such.
22
@era7928 Nah, no. You never read history. Millions were killed only during 1965-1966 anticommunist purge. And the victims were not mostly chinese.. instead large majority of it were farmers and labors of Javanese descent accused of Communist membership. While in 1998 riot, which happened only in Jakarta, the casualties never reaching above hundreds. On the other side of the coin.. if communist ruled.. pretty sure it would be similar to when China-backed Khmer Rouge regime causing millions lost their lives between 1976-1978 in Cambodia.
19
@hailyrizzo5428 You chinese-malaysian/foreigner are always trying to make Indonesians & Malaysians fighting each other for your own benefit. We are brothers, literally "serumpun" (one nation).
18
@malakatan3235 LOL. We saw your comments everywhere, "Malaka Tan". In this channel you claim not being pro P.R.China. But elsewhere, you are. In channels of Kompas, in CGTN, in CCTV, etc.
18
@era7928 It's one way or another. P.R.China also planned a regime change too in Malaysia and Indonesia by supporting each country's communist party. In Malaysia it was more severe: broke out into armed conflict "Malayan Emergency". In Cambodia, the China-backed Khmer Rouge successfully ruled in 1976-1978 causing millions lost their lives. It was between rock and hard place.
17
@agps4418 Oh elo ngomongin toxic nationalism/chauvinisme?
17
@malakatan3235 Nowhere as severe as the treatment of P.R.China of the Uighur & Tibetan people (mention how many of them are able to become business conglomerate or a minister?). Or Han Chinese wiping out Aboriginal Taiwanese during Ming & Qing rule.
16
@hailyrizzo5428 Ha.. Chinese promoting divides in another country. How dare you talking about Papua one of Indonesia's numerous provinces, when you treated the Uighur & Tibet much worse? How dare you talking like that after separating Korea into two countries? How dare you talking like that after wiping out Aboriginal Formosans during Ming & Qing Dynasty?
16
@agps4418 Plenty of European-Indonesian (Indos) became celebrities in Indonesia, Arab-Indonesians in religious affairs & economy, Chinese-Indonesians are allowed in politics and businesses, and ethnic Papuans working in state-owned companies plus became a minister of Indonesian government (Yohana Yembise). Can you tell me is there any Hong Kong citizen of Pakistan/Indian descent who became a minister in P.R.China? Or Uighurs as dominating conglomerate in P.R.China's economy? None.
15
15
Nowhere as bad as Uighurs or Tibetans where the natives were displaced by Han Chinese and they are now largely sinicized. Chinese in Indonesia still can celebrate their cultural heritages.
14
@era7928 You are wrong. P.R.China had major influence in Malaysia's communist movement in 1948-1970. Even succeeded in backing Khmer Rouge power struggle in Cambodia since 1960s and then caused massive displacement of population between 1976-1978.
13
@malakatan3235 P.R.China still denied the "Tong Chup incident", a war cr1me which happened during China invasion of Vietnam in 1979. While America at least admit it, P.R.China denied everything. Both of your country are same.
13
@KeyaanPoon To us Indonesians, we admit that 1965-1966 was a dark chapter of Indonesia history. But these Chinese supremacists always steering the narratives as if the incident was about "Indonesia being racist on chinese". No. It is wrong. The large majority of victims of 1965-1966 massacre were Sumatran & Javanese farmers or labors accused of being Communists. And it was still nowhere on the same scale as the victims of "Great Leap Ahead" by Mao Zedong or the China-backed Khmer Rouge in Cambodia 1976-1978.
12
@malakatan3235 LOL the irony. Pot calling a kettle black. I saw you generalizing Islam (our muslim brothers) in the comment above. And lot of us have been observing your comments on CGTN, CCTV, Kompas, CNN Indonesia, etc mostly pro-P.R.China.. dear "Malaka Tan".
11
@resanovyanto9594 banyak propagandais chauvinis china di sini
11
@Cecilia-ky3uw No matter how worse the person are.. whether it is racist Anies Baswedan (yemeni arab descent) or corrupt Edy Tansil (chinese descent).. the fact that their family have been living in Indonesia for many generations are testament that Indonesia is not really racist. Nowhere as severe as discrimination of P.R.China toward Tibetans, Uighurs, or Catholics in China.. the wiping out of Aboriginal Taiwanese by Ming & Qing Dynasty.. the ill treatment of Native Americans by US.. or the wiping out of Circassians and Ukrainians by the Russians.
11
@malakatan3235 LOL you chinese also hate Islam (while NU's Islam is predominant in Indonesia). That's literally your comment above.
10
@agps4418 Absolutely "nothing happened" to Aboriginal Formosans whom Han Chinese had sidelined during Ming & Qing Dynasty, "nothing happened" to Uighurs, "nothing happened" in Tiananmen Square 1989.
10
@zenlei8258 But HK is an autonomous region anyway. We talk about the central government bruh. Not even ethnic Koreans in China (and especially if he/she is not a CCP member) are allowed to participate as business tycoon or minister in P.R.China's central government.. let alone Uighurs, or other non Han Chinese? Compare it with ethnic Koreans who are able to establish big company in Japan like Masayoshi Son (Softbank) and Shin Hyuk Ho (Lotte Group).. or like Sudono Salim in Indonesia (thanks to Suharto's hands).
10
@NicholasPangaribuan LOL "full blood Sumatran". Liar. China had intervened in other countries: supported PKI's rise in the government & promised to arm them with license-made SKS rifles (Chung rifles) if "Angkatan Kelima" proposal was approved (it was not approved by Gen. Ahmad Yani however), supported Khmer Rouge/Pol Pot coup which successfully took over Cambodia in 1976-1978, supported Malaysia communist rebellion since 1948-1970s, etc.
10
@AKAtheA Not really. All of its population speak same national language. Compare it with India or Malaysia which minority couldn't speak the national language.
8
@Cathie "the nerd and geek image of STEM students really pulls young people from science".... uhh.. not really. You probably forget on Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak impact on young people. Gaming industry is also still predominantly US (EA, Activision, Blizzard, etc) and French (Ubisoft).
6
@idk_wtf_is_going_on9614 Why don't you criticize Thailand policy on why Chinese had to use Thai name, why Americans forced Italian immigrants to anglicize their name, or why Aboriginal Taiwanese during Ming & Qing dynasty era were forced to adopt Han Chinese culture?
5
You are wrong indeed. Is Indonesia really racist? But these immigrant descendants of Arab, Chinese, and Indian were granted opportunity to become businessmen. Indonesia is already tolerant. If Indonesia is racist, they all would be put into concentration camp like Myanmar did to Rohingya & Karen people or like P.R.China to Uighur people.
4
If China can own nuke, why India cannot?
4
@CuriosityCircuit2024 US never apologized about its intervention in Chile, P.R.China never apologized for killing millions of oppositions during "Great Leap Forward" and "Cultural Revolution" purge and never apologizes for the invasion of Vietnam in 1979 including "The Tong Chup"war cr1me tragedy, USSR never apologized for displacing the Dagestanis and Ukrainians during Stalin times. These great powers are all b*llsh*t bro.
4
@hcdtrs9684 Nowhere as worse as when Americans forced Italian and German immigrants to anglicized their name & and abandoned their culture. Or when Han Chinese sinicized Uighurs, Manchurians, Inner Mongolians, and Tibetans.. while prevented them from dominating important aspects of their life whether it is central government politics or economy.
4
What are you rambling about. If Indonesia was racist at the first place, then those immigrants of Arab, Indian, Chinese descent were already kicked out long time ago.. not allowed to enter the country. The fact that chinese descendants are able to lived here for generations and allowed to held high position including in business.. is actually a tolerance. Meanwhile can you point out how many non-Han Chinese (like Uighurs) & non-CCP member who can held positions in the P.R.China government???
3
Taught by US. Similar with how Japan learned industrial statistics after WW2 from US.
3
Wrong. India developed their own nuke. No assistance from Soviet or USA. India was a nonbloc country, unlike China who got the nuke from Soviet technology transfer in 1950s when Soviet & China were all time close.
3
LOL what a nonsense. Ethnic Arab, India, and Chinese in Indonesia have been living for many generations and have equal opportunity & enjoy live better than the Uighurs in Mainland P.R.China. Or than Aboriginal Formosan people whom Han Chinese had wiped out and sidelined in their own native land during Ming & Qing Dynasty.
3
star grow all were design by both US, China, Soviet.. you keep blaming Indonesians for being racist but you forget how the problem of minorities in those countries are not even solved yet.
3
@KeyaanPoon Exactly. History is written by the victors.. whether it is USA, P.R.China, or Russia.. but somehow for them it is always the smaller countries as being the only ones guilty.
3
@marsilio4328 Elo ngotot masa lalu terus hahahaha. Kita bicara sekarang boss.. pasca Gus Dur.
3
But at least Adani is an Indian. Not arab, chinese, or anything
3
All of these terms in economy is actually from "western". Why are you so anti-western? Beside, ironically these Chinese-Indonesians & Suharto authoritarian regime are all pro-US.
3
@aranjohn5502 nowhere as severe as P.R. China's treatment on Tibet & Uighur people and Myanmar people on Karen & Rohingya people.
2
Not playing victim. You chinese are the ones who are playing victim. Remember who wiped out the aboriginal Formosans during Ming & Qing Dynasty? You come to another land and displaced the local population. Meanwhile Indonesia never come to other country and say "you should be obliterated". Indonesia even allowed these Arabs, Chinese, and Indian descendants of immigrants to become important figure in government seat (Kwik Kian Gie & Bob Hasan), CEOs (Sudono Salim), military (John Lie), etc. But is there any descendants of immigrants, non-Han Chinese, who are allowed to be important figure in P.R.China? Nope.
2
@aranjohn5502 LOL as if Mainland Chinese are not racist themselves.
2
Incorrect. Geopolitics has always been a complex thing. You forgot the fact that during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war, China was closer to Pakistan rather than USA closer to Pakistan. Why would US support Pakistan if it also benefits China? Especially 2 years later when Pakistan provided supports to Arab League against Israel (US ally). US only became closer to China after that corrupt Nixon approached China in 1971, as the Sino-Soviet Split got worsening
2
Sounds racist. No wonder they don't like you.
2
Ada, tapi sejak Soeharto.. itu semua berubah. Siapa yang ngasih persenan besar ke Harto, itulah yang disayang, dibesarkan, dan dijadikan kroni/circle nya Harto.
2
You should also analyze on how Toshiba laptop fell
2
No.. it sounds more like kleptocracy to me. Because Suharto and his circle robbed our country's money away for their own entertainment.
2
It is indeed a dictator.. without him, Indonesia's economy wouldn't be dominated by certain ethnic.
2
It is a tragedy indeed. My older cousin bought an AMD-powered Compaq laptop back in 2010, back then Compaq was something like under HP in my country. There was so many competitions from the emerging Asus & Acer, MSI, Lenovo.. to HP itself.
2
@gundarvarr1024 It quite the reverse actually. Plenty of Koreans became founder of big Japanese companies: Masayoshi Son (Softbank), Shin Kyuk-Ho and Shin Dong-bin (Lotte), and Masahiro Miki (ABC-Mart)
