Everything Ian has fun with is meme material
21
Oh no, is this the one where I have to watch it like a hawk for when Othias bothers you off camera?
20
We'll hope Ian is perpetually "on the case", since Holmes's other vices were quite destructive.
20
@surplusdivision2461 heck, most of the smgs are specifically designed to cost as little as possible
20
rolf ski But demonstrate that a "stab proof" vest isn't and...
20
Verbatim So?
19
thgreatandini oh hush
19
another thread seems to have worked out that they meant opening the cylinder/ removing the magazine. The 1907 had a heel release, not a button
19
Some, some, of the single shot to bolt action conversions were worth it
18
david Kealey Some say he is still looking for the ruler to this day
18
Michael Berthelsen A lot of people forget how bad black powder is.
18
Deep South because it fell directly from the cow's tuchas
18
It was odd enough when Lindy and Skall crossed over

jakekillify Simple answer to the original question: Humans are fragile, animals less so. Slightly less simple: Rounds perfectly suited to maybe/maybe not killing a human are going to leave many game animals (including deer) in pain for far longer than strictly necessary. A single 5.56 NATO round likely will not even kill a deer. Many states have outlawed the use of smaller, weaker rounds for certain game due to this fact. I actually have 30-06 ammo specifically stating that it is not for large game.
17
I? Don't? Know?
17
Many of them have
16
If he can find one I bet he'd love to do a video on it
16
Only even less usable
16
He said he would, patience.
15
I just wear inner ear plugs anyways
15
I ain't gonna pay for it though, not at 12k
14
Yeah Ian is mysterious
14
Same
14
Ian, why is this an ad?
14
Hopefully people see this. The two handed comment stemmed from two points: 1 putting a revolver under a leg 2 the heel release and racking the slide
14
I'm actually glad it didn't work because how in the world was Ian going to source that ammo?
14
@missfire9480 The one thing the Brits have right about guns is that suppressors are basically just a check box on their forms.
13
@LOUDcarBOMB And not have to self flagellate every night in penance.
13
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I actually reference MGS3
12
I mean the PM was available commercially
12
A Very Disappointed Red Engineer not terribly challenging when all you need is the exterior
12
Halinspark Because its job was "Shoot once. If you hit, grab enemy's gun. If you miss, run, if you haven't been shot yet."
12
Doug Bolster "it's a Jennings!"
12
I'm sorry, it's a nervous tick. *not have
12
@1r0zz Nah, we'd just mostly just ignore it like most government spending.
12
Anthony Williams He did say it may have had more to do with the ammunition having a hard primer
11
I mean, you don't have to... If you don't want to
11
Ian letting his hair down.
11
Magazines are not actually all that related to the action, as far as reliability is concerned. If a magazine fails but the action is perfect? It's still a failure, but not of the action. This is why internal magazines were so common for so long. It's cheaper to make one good magazine and a whole bunch of good enough stripper clips than a whole bunch of good magazines.
11
Ola Justin because the deafening noise of the gun wasn't enough
11
@snakeeyes941 I assume it's still at least an arm Yup, $1099 list price
11
Paul Shayter I wasn't trying to correct your story, I was telling a different one.
11
AHHHHHHH THE COLORS AND SHAPES!!!
11
Stefan B Mostly ergonomics. Pistol grip is more comfortable than a "rifle" grip. A "barrel shroud" (handguard) keeps you from burning yourself on the hot barrel. A couple of things might have actual battlefield effect but don't actually make the rifle fire more powerful rounds or anything like that. The flash hider is as much for your eyes as the enemy's.
11
I forgot I was dealing with a community entirely made up of pedants.
11
"oh it's the United States, let's just go buy some"
10
Yeah, the shotguns are more an InRange project I feel.
10
For sure
10
andrew w I mean if British Officers don't even duck...
