  6. Great video. If past warranty, you can bypass the coolant lines to the heat exchanger. One in engine compartment, or two, or underneath where the exchanger IS. Gasket Masters shows u on two videos. ALOT cheaper.

  7. AMD loves Toyotas. He's evaluated Prii on one of his older videos. He said if u change oil every 5,000 miles, less probs. And clean or add on a traction battery fan filter u have no battery probs. He speaks highly of prius. I see TONS of older Prii. I hope MY 2019 looks as good as all of your guys! (I've been wanting prii since 2010). Ppl say my gen is noisy, my hearing isnt so well so who cares!😂🤣 We all take pride in our prii & I didnt want u to be insulted.😁😉

  8. I am a senior, drove my 20yr old 97 camry until it basically was rusted out. 265,000 miles. I KNEW i had to live frugal & I sacrificed, saved, to purchase my 2019 Prius. I dont need a big truck, a mercedes, & planned for the worst. I cut the cord/gone to antenna tv, did what I must. This way, if I'm wrong, not disappointed. I would have liked a hybrid camry or rav4 but I remained focused. Maintenance expense is not an issue now, down the road, yes, but I hope to be prepared. It IS hard affording cars. Theyre as much as mortgage payments decades ago, but incomes have remained stagnant. With gas prices, ppl STILL live beyond their means. Vacation isnt IN my crystal ball, SURVIVAL IS. I thank God I FINALLY did something right owning a hybrid, & not bragging at all, just humbly grateful.

Buying replacement parts IS the one big thing. They put Toyota on boxes & theyre fake. Best thing, buy from dealer. Expensive ticket items forces owners to look elsewhere. Thanks AMD!

  14. Im a 70 yr old senior. Done mechanical work most of my life but either worked or didnt have proper tools. So I KNOW there are caring technicians out there like u. I have a great family garage/former Toyota techs who are great! And ppl who commented, there's shitty customers TOO! Just give techs a chance. Anywho, thank u for your conscientious work! 👍🖖🇺🇸

  16. Great analogy, AMD. See, that timing cover leak would drive me up a wall. I WONDER how many miles on timing belt?🤔 I'd get belt changed, new gasket, & belts (power steering/alternator) changed also. The shape that car's in, I'd risk it. I wonder how tranny fluid is? I'd consider if tranny is in good shape. If bad, jst do what u HAVE to pass. Especially with the economy of purchasing/car payments. I would have liked to see crankcase oil on dip stick, too.

  17. WOW!!! Impressed!!! My 97 Camry had 265,000 but body didnt look as good as HIS. AND HIS ENGINE BAY! IMMACULATE. Mine was a 4cyl but I loved it TOO! I bought am alternator for $20 in a pick n pull. I was like a kid in a candy store!!! How old is this gentleman??? Was it garage kept? I hope he reads all the positive comments!! When u showed engine, I saw the little black box w/computer on passenger back, tabs I used to use a wire or paper clip to set the timing!! 😂 I truly ran it until the wheels fell off. U guys make me feel "normal". My Camry had faults like his, but I always joked, " jst because Im poor, I dont have to LOOK poor, so mine was clean like his!! May his Camry live long & prosper.🖖 P.S. AMD, u REALLY dont know how u affect our lives! I see u got choked up. I know ur busy but I'd love to meet u in person sometime! I know u wanted to meet w/fans, I hope u CAN someday!

  19. That front fluid was a little brown. Good job of changing it! Are there "vents" to be concerned about? I've been watchn u for yrs now, u should be an instructor if u ever get tired (or ur back hurts) from workn on cars! Dont know why it never crossed my mind. I dont even OWN a AWD & I enjoy ur videos! 😁

  23. I don't miss carburetors AT ALL. The worst thing was automatic chokes. If I still owned a muscle car, I'd convert to fuel injection. Great video, as usual.👍🇺🇸✊️

  24. AMD, EXCELLENT VIDEO!! I BET TOYOTA LOVES U FOR THIS (saves them aggravation). I had an 81 toyota 4x4, in for 1st yr state inspection. Dealership is now under a new owner, but at that time, a weld was bad on my exhaust system, dealership replaced whole exhaust bc they felt it was faulty. BUT, it was past my 12,000mile warranty back then & they STILL replaced it for FREE!! I didnt 4 wheel it, so I appreciated very much! Owners NEED to know, their vehicle has a computer now that logs & mechanics can bring abuse up. I used to install batteries & ppl would install on wood boards/bungee cords & want warranted. 🤥 So I FEEL UR PAIN.😉😁

  25. I hear on the news how car insurance rates have increased. Granted, price to repair today's cars IS up.🙄 So, insurance companies are "totaling" vehicles now. This is WHY we need insurance OUT of HEALTHCARE! It's a racket.👍👍🖖🇺🇸 PS That was work that should have been done at a body shop, not a tech shop. Just saying.

  26. I own a 2019 prius. Amd's previous oil change video states he recommmends 5,000 mile changings. I did/do on mine since new OR every 6mos if I dont have enough mileage. Also chek out his cvt oil changing also! I think he reccomends 100,000 miles? I'm not sure, but I already have in my mind I'm doing mine at 60,000. Enjoy urs too!!!😉

  29. Such a beautiful car!! I actually feel bad for the owner. Good move on eliminating air ride! I was gonna ask. See? Ppl just dont take car of cars when they buy new & u reap the harvest of it. I worked w/a woman who owned a sporty Corolla that I really liked. I kept reminding her to fill her tires w/air & change the oil but she wouldnt. This mad me aware that ppl dont take care of their cars, they jst drive them. I hope ur customer does whats best for him! 👍

  33. I owned a 97 Camry used. All I remember was it was 6-7 yrs old when I got it. I NOW own a Prius & I love it, but my Camry STILL has a place in my heart. Was lookn for mpg's or I'd own a hybrid Camry. U take care of it/it'll take care if u.

  37. I respectfully disagree with you. I WORKED for a lead/acid battery mfg in the USA & we rebuilt cells in batteries. It's all well and good if the battery is fairly new, but AMD is correct. If one block (cell) goes bad, the others fall in line. It's just more dependable replacing the whole battery. It's like putting on a bandaid if you don't.

  38. Yeah, we used to think planing heads/block, more compression in the olden days! 😂 We ALSO used pressure test do diagnose leak. Didn't have boroscopes. That dye was cool, never heard of compression gases. I learn so much frm u! Ur ALWAYS so thorough, I was wondering planing? Get head gaskets? (I probably would bc I have my car NEW, maintain it well, avoid car payments.😉 Hi Mrs car care, get photography. Thank u! 😁 👍

  43. We were all young once! I owned an 81 SR5 4x4 & decided to drive up & down a gas easement full of rocks. I was alone & had to jump out every so many feet, so I learned MY LESSON. Did no damage but SWORE I'd NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, & DIDN'T.😉 Jose', great video work & count your blessings w/AMD. Hard to find a good employer who genuinely cares about his workers.   44. I really loved my 97 4cyl Camry! When u started, I thought 100,000 miles, timing belt, WRONG! I feel bad for your customer, I hope this used one last him 265,000 miles like my orig one did! Are you doing a video on it? Hope so! I love the Camry w/ the longer tail lites? 2000? But love them ALL! 👍

  46. I drove a 97 Camry that I pushed for it's last year (was rusted). I saved up that yr for my 2019 Prius. Considered Camry, RAV4, & went for my Prius. I LOVE the other 2 but I thot if Prius gets 54mpg, I'll prob get 40. WRONG. There's times I get 60/up to 69 mpg. Takes work/coasting but it was a challenge. Whp cares if its noisy, or engine kickn off & on, it's a personal thing AND IT WILL be YOURS! I'm a senior tryn to think ahead, & for my 1st time, I timed it perfectly. So hang in there, u made an excellent decision, & u will pat urself on ur back. That yr I saved seem like eternity, but it came before I knew it! 😁

I can tell u take great pride in ur vehicle. I had a 97 Camry I bought used (I LOVED IT! 265,000 miles) & now own a 2019 Prius. May ur Camry, "live long & prosper." 🖖👍
