Remember folks, Amd doesn't have time to answer your questions. I was at his shop for service on Monday and he was beyond swamped, I drove 150 miles to get there and I'll never take my 2 Lexus's to anyone else. I pity anyone else who doesn't live close to him. His knowledge and trustworthiness is 2nd to none.I'm taking my GS 350 F-Sport back there in May and I'm hoping he'll have time to do a video on it. Amd & his wife who runs the business end are the nicest people you could ever meet! It's a true blessing to have him especially when you've been burned by the dealership experience as I have.

At my age I bought my last 2 Lexus's with NA V6's and drive them till I croak. Oil changes every 6 months or 4k miles and everything else that needs maintenance with OE parts. Oil is cheap and engines are not. Great informative video!

I drive 150 miles to have Amd service my 2 Lexus's. His professionalism is second to none and his faith in the Lord is what drew me to his shop. I see him moving to a larger shop in the future.

Did anyone mention, change your oil? 😁

From a guy that services the brand daily he knows immensely more than any auto journalist.

Great video! Being an existing customer of yours I have a black RX & black GS. It is a chore to keep them clean but look so good when washed. I've always found detailing my cars to be very therapeutic and let the pros like you to service them. Have a great weekend and look forward to my next service at your shop!

This will be an awesome series, we'll have to start calling Amd Hoovie 2. 😁 The big plus for this LS is that it didn't live in the rust belt. Remember folks, OEM parts is the only way to go. Seeing that aftermarket oil filter made me cringe thinking the oil change was probably done at the Jiffy Lube. 🤮Looking forward to my appointment at your shop next week! 18 Lexus owner here never driven in the winter.

It is such a privilege to be a regular client of his! Who needs filthy Hollywood movies to watch when he gives us this type of content!
20
Sell, sell, sell whether the client needs it or not.

I think Beluga Whale when I look at the grill. If I was in the market, I'd look for the last of the 22's. Let's hope Lexus listens to their customer base and makes changes in the years to come. Even though my 14 RX is incredibly boring to drive in a good way the solid reliability makes it a joy to own. It's literally the best car I've ever owned in my 45 years of driving. Amd's review was the best of any Tuber vid. so far!

He also has a drain cleaning tool thru his Amazon affiliate at the top of this page,I just bought one. NEVER use a coat hanger to clean the drain due to the hangers rigidity which could push the drain hose off the connection. You'd be in a world of hurt if the hanger pushes the drain hose off the connection, ie, water leaking and stained headliner.

@eleanormassaro5195 And I'm about a 125 miles from his shop. I will never go to a dealer again and I don't even need to explain why since I'm sure most people understand.
12
Absolutely, none better IMO and I'm fortunate to be one of his clients.
10
@TheMrDudiness His shop is swamped, I had to make my service appointment 2 months in advance.
10
If ya trade it off then, it's the next buyer's problem which would make me lose sleep.

Being a graduate of Shade Tree Tech. 😀 when I used to work out of my garage I never touched anything brake related. I didn't want to risk liability if there was a brake related issue or accident. Such a shame for the customer making the mistake, I sure feel bad for them. Great vid. Amd! Even with my 18 GS there are 2 different oil filters with that model with the same engine. RWD takes an A1 filter and the AWD takes the A4 filter.
8
Bingo, you're doing it the right way! Oil is cheap.
8
I refuel till the pump clicks off and don't put anymore gas in.
7
18 GS owner here too that I bought new and Amd services it. It only has 15k miles on it, it's the last car I'll ever own since I'm 60.
7
Smart move. Holding on to my 2 Lexus's with the V6.
7
2 Lexus owner here and a big fan of your channel also! That's amazing that you're a follower of our Lord and Savior also! I knew that you had a certain humbleness about you that couldn't go unnoticed that is evident in a Christ follower! Blessings to you and your family David and I'll keep watching Automotive Press!

It's almost like I inspect first on a lift and then next look the rest of the car over. Looking underneath tells ya a lot that 99% of the people never do. Surprised dealer didn't let ya lift it due to insurance not letting people in the shop.

@mr3klax Being that I'm OCD about my cars PM wise and cosmetically and they're black of course I knew Amd was the right guy. There wasn't one paw print on my RX after I left which he's wise enough to see and takes the extra precautions to not cause any damage. A lot of dealer techs are disgruntled being employed by dealers and are not conscientious when a task is performed. A lot of times the client doesn't know if his car was repaired properly or not from the dealer.I've known several dealership techs thru the years and they've all left to pursue other careers.

I've been a regular there since he opened his shop and I thought my 150 mile drive was a long way.
6
I bet the place was packed. Were people lining up to meet him?

It was a pleasure to meet you and the Mrs. last week when I drove up from Peoria with my black 14 RX. I have an 18 GS F-Sport RWD that I bought new that is my baby and will never be driven in the winter. I'm looking forward to having you service it next spring. I'm totally OCD about it and keep it all factory original since I'm not a fan of aftermarket. It has been such a wonderful car and I specifically bought it cause I knew end of production was coming soon. I really liked the GSF V8 but just didn't feel it was enough bang for the $$ at $90k. Anyone interested in owning one of the later models and can find a nice used one I highly recommend this model. I'm just as in love with it as the day I bought it! Great vid. Amd!

Praise God for all his blessings he has given you for being a faithful servant to him! Regular customer here from Peoria who brings my 2 black Lexus's to you. I mentioned to you in May when I was last there that you will outgrow this place and move onto a larger place and I hope it happens. Good to know on the 0W20, I have boxes of Mobil 1 stacked to the ceiling in my basement and pick up several 6 packs every time it's on sale. Looking forward to the next service visit! 👍

Everyone and their brother knows it's a sin to go to fast oil change shops.
5
I flush mine once a month and have never replaced a headlight.
5
Bingo!
5
I'd bet $$ he would not recommend the fancy filters. Stay original and you won't have problems.
5
Same here for over 45 years, no one has ever changed my oil but me. My assumption has always been that the kid changing my oil was probably flipping burgers the day before. Amd is a great guy and has been doing other services to my 2 Lexus's since he opened his shop.
5
Me too, it seemed just like yesterday. I'm a regular at his place and try not to talk to him too much since he's always being pulled in different directions.
5
Me too, 18 F-Sport owner here and just had Amd service it yesterday.

For the eagle eyed viewer such as myself, did anyone see in the video his new shop?? I did. So glad to be a client of his and wish him nothing but success!!
4
He's my mechanic and my Vet retired so, I stopped getting pets after that. The Vet was mean and nasty and only cared about your pet and wouldn't charge me for half the visits and he was honest, I loved him!
4
Mobil 1 stacked to the ceiling in my basement and a dozen Toyota filters here for my Lexus. You're a smart man!
4
Good idea for the purpose you use it for, sometimes less is more.
4
It's totally worthwhile to Fluid Film. My bud does it annually on his Jeep and the underside looks amazing. Says he has to reapply it once a year, kind of a messy job though. It would be much easier to apply if ya had a lift.
4
Former wrench here and I get asked occasionally from people on what good car to buy. I quit giving advice to them and when you suggest what to buy they never listen and buy what they want.
4
I was a wrench in the 80's also, glad I'm not today.
4
@bertplank9892 You couldn't be more wrong!
4
Until you buy a competing brand.
4
Hands down he's the best! I've been going to his shop since he opened and I drive to his shop from Peoria. I always look forward to my next appointment which will be in June. Best of luck on your project and I'll be following it as he does more on your IS!
4
Is Amd fixing Scotty's blue Toyota in the background? I can see Scotty's title on a video, I'm retiring and The Car Care Nut is fixing my Toyota's! 😄
3
Book several months in advance because he is swamped.
3
Yes, it's the upgraded piston ring engine.
3
That's awesome! I have a pristene 14 RX and an 18 GS F-Sport, I spend half my life keeping them maintained and detailed. I'm a regular at Amd's shop.
3
I must agree, I have an 18 Lexus that's been excellent.
3
For longevity, I annually apply silicone di-electric grease to the weatherstrip. Smear it on and let it soak in so to speak and wipe off the excess. Do this and it will keep it from ever cracking or getting dry. Most car manufacturers recommend this in the owners manual. The LS looks great!
