I thinking we're seeing the new Jake v3.0 and I like it! Take no prisoners, Jake.
8
yes, and she fed the trolls big time by altering the Ukraine:Russia stats.
8
So happy to see a Jake Broe video out tonight! Just filled with great content, thank you Jake.

Last check before hitting the sack, and wow, aiming for half a million now. That would be 25 trucks!. And to think Jake originally was aiming for just 2 trucks. What a worldwide community effort. $422,651.57 / $500,000 6520 Donations

Thanks for the kitty report. Based on the color of his fur, I think it's the other end of Artur Rehi's video of them digging the cat out , but that video ended before the cat was freed, so I'm happy to see him in loving arms.
7
I know he was demonetized several months ago, but it was a youtube screwup that was prevalent among many channels at the time. Believe Jake had the same problem around then. I hope this latest is just another goofup on youtube's part. I don't see why youtube would demonetize him for being Russian. They're in it to make money after all.
7
Very informative, Jake, even for this viewer who already follows US politics closely on multiple channels. Thank you.
7
@ValeriaMessalina1 What are you saying Dems refuse to talk about? What is "it?" What is "T F?" Dems and Reps agreed on a bipartisan immigration bill, but it's not even being brought to the floor for a vote. The House Speaker (R) won't bring it up, and the Senate minority leader (R) is talking against it. And they both say out loud that it's because Trump doesn't want them to. This is not because Dems have refused to discuss anything.
7
I remember it from grade school. They called it "Seward's Folly" the then Sec of State. Alternatively "Seward's Ice Box" or the President's polar bear garden.
7
@neilpountney9414 Context. Pay attention to context. The question was about US leaders' attitudes.

Some happy news -- Kamala Harris is LEADING by three points in "the most golden poll in America", J. Ann Selzer's Iowa poll. Selzer only polls Iowa, because that's her state, she knows it well, and her polling has been extremely accurate in 2016 and 2020 -- polling within 1 point of actual election results. For Harris to be even close in ultra-conservative Iowa would be great news; to be ahead by 3 points is astoundingly good news.
6
Those were comforting words, Jake ... "when this war is over and Ukraine joins NATO"
6
@franceyneireland1633 There's a lot of inspiration in that thought -- "how much damage a single determined individual could inflict on the Soviet Union." Good to remember when we think "I'm just one person, what can I do?"
6
@allymac18 No doubt true. A Canadian was grousing yesterday about Canada buying missiles from US instead of building up its own production lines. Limits how much Canada can contribute - can't just tell the factories to ramp up production, because the factories don't exist. I'm exaggerating, no doubt, but trying to picture the situation some countries are in that did not keep up their military readiness and then suddenly needed it.
6
From US, it's always interesting to hear from an Aussie. Your country has dealt successfully with some of the same big problems we're currently struggling with -- like dumping the Murdochs, and like shoring up your protections for democracy and dealing with corruption in government. I hear, btw, you have two former Prime Ministers of different parties who have agreed to mutually investigate the Murdoch empire. I just hope my country can turn it around in time.

@jimberry8417 One possibility floated months ago was that Russia could be declared an illegal UN member based on the fact that they slid into place as replacement for the Soviet Union. Russia as a lone Republic was never voted into the UN. Who's to say that Ukraine, just for one example, should not be the replacement USSR representative at the UN?
5
Good to hear someone in politics who has their brain fully engaged. This was great, Jake, and I hope more of Congress reaches out to you and shares their ideas with us.
5
Absolutely. We could learn a thing or two from democracies such as the one in Germany -- although as I say that, I know they're having problems too.
5
Loved that last clip "we were always cool." And now we all know. ----- Appreciated the coverage on the ICC charge, Jake. As you usually do, you brought a perspective to it I had not heard on other channels. ----- Please don't ever show a clip of Large Marge Three-toes again. It's so embarassing.
5
One difference with McCarthy is that he openly supported Ukraine, whereas the new Speaker does not. I think with Mike Johnson it comes down to a literal translation of the Holy Bible. Johnson supports Israel, because Israelites were called the chosen generation, whereas Ukraine doesn't really come onto the radar screen in scriptural terms.
5
Thanks for the NAFO info. It should get more media attention. I only found out about it last week from a viewer comment.
5
That's because Harris went in for the handshake right at the beginning. It was the equivalent of "SIT. STAY."
5
thanks for the goat rescue! I've been wondering what's happening to all the farm animals if the farmers evacuate, and there's no one left to feed them - especially in winter with nothing growing.
5
This was a day-after-Christmas present, to see an extra Jake Broe video! Thank you. My understanding of the latest drone strike on the Russian airfield is that the 3 soldiers were killed by shrapnel from the drone fragments after Russia shot down the drone. Both reports mentioned that they only had Russia's report on that, no confirmation from Ukraine.
5
@Muljinn Fair point. Even neutral Switzerland has regular military drills.
5
That "We Will Rock You" instrumental is fantastic! I hope it goes viral.
5
Fantastic guest. Been thinking since shortly after Feb 24, that the only threat Ukraine posed to Russia was the success of its people, based on democratic principles. Russian citizens would eventually figure out that their neighbors look a whole lot happier than themselves.
4
Smart idea, Jake, to bring Reagan into the conversation. MAGA Republicans idolize Trump, but regular Republicans still revere Ronald Reagan.
4
Umm. He's not quite that old. 😉 He flew combat missions in the Gulf war, not WW2.
4
Finally the Bradleys make an appearance. They were in Germany around Feb 6 and then no news.
4
Their chocolate sucks. So does Hershey. One of them bought Cadbury and ruined it also.
4
The Republican in my district (Doug Lamborn), and the Republican in the district next to it (Ken Buck), have both said they won't run for reelection. They're done with the MAGA circus in Congress. Buck is good honorable guy, and he's a loss. Lamborn not so much.
4
I'm in Colorado. Unaffiliated. I expect two ballots in March, one for each party. The only restriction will be that I only fill out one ballot. If I fill them both out, my vote will not be counted. So, yeah, voting in the Republican primary this year 😅😇
4
Thank you Jay. Both you and Artur Rehi want to see Ukraine pull back from Bakhmud. I wanted them to move out 2 weeks ago. It's just amazing how long they have held it. God bless Roman and all those soldiers.
4
That is a wonderful comment. Thank you for writing it. I'd give you a hundred upvotes if I could.
4
Thank you, Jake. Hope you're enjoying your new digs, and that you're having a peaceful contented Christmas season. The dog bit at the end was great.
4
Watching a fire from behind huge bales of hay. What could go wrong.
4
Mike Johnson "I lie most of the time. I know they're lies. People know I lie. I know people know I lie. And yet I lie. My master makes me do this. I have no will of my own. Please call me Moses."
4
Trump can lie about pulling out of NATO, 'till the cows come home, but he cannot do that. Congress is one step ahead of him. ..."the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, enacted on December 22, 2023, prohibits the President from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO without approval of a two-third Senate super-majority or an act of Congress."
4
I've made too many comments already, but I just want to thank you, Jake, for the time you spend pulling together good info from many sources. Many Americans barely have the energy to find your channel, let alone all the channels you pull info from. It's a valuable service you're providing. I wish you and other pro-democracy sources could have your own TV channel, so tired Americans could just sit down in the evening, turn on the tube, and get solid information easily. We'd be a much better country if we were all making voting decisions with better info.
4
Thank you John Roberts, and thank you Jake for reading his letter. It is beautifully written. I promise to contact my representatives. One is a useless cowardly Republican (not all are, but he is), but I will do what I can to add my voice to others' voices.
4
Almost 8 NAFO trucks so far! ($155,712.02 ) Aiming for 10 now, huh? 🎂👍 What a great way to celebrate your birthday.
4
The subtitle of the Budapest Memorandum was/is "Security Assurance" The implications of that go way beyond just "allowing" Ukraine to remain sovereign. We promised Ukraine would be secure in future if they would give up their nuclear stash. Bill Clinton has since stated publicly that he regrets pushing Ukraine into that positiion. @E3ECO
4
@powergamerx425 oh was that her a few weeks back? I was referring to her excellent statement on Putin. Basically stop him now or spend the next decades dealing with russia's aggression.
4
@creampuffwar4457 Scott Ritter is an a-hole. I listened to him one time, and that was one time too many.
4
Right? It slays me that we give one individual the power to prevent one half of our bicameral Congress from even being allowed to vote on an issue impacting the entire country.
3
I don't have the right words 😢 You will find the strength to overcome, but right now it must feel so dark.
3
This American heard about the recent Polish election on both DW and MSNBC channels. It was as well covered as Slovakia if not more so. The Polish voters stayed strong for democracy, turned out in record numbers as I recall, and there were plenty of upvotes supporting them at the news.
3
Heard the good news from DW and was waiting for your take on the loosening of the missile restrictions. Thanks as always.
3
Many people want to help Ukraine, but are not sure which charities are legitimate. I often mention your channel for that reason, because I know you would only send people to where their money will do the most good.
