@baeseulgi I noticed that you complained about the "woke" culture in the West (primarily the U.S., perhaps?). Since you seem open to discussions, I'm going to make a few comments here. First of all, the word "woke" on YT has largely become utilized by the right-wing to insult people that advocate for better representation of minorities. The people who support groups with less power are not the ones who are nationalist or intentionally espousing racist ideology. They are, by large, not the ones claiming that Japan is the worst or the most backward country out there, because they understand that Japan is a country with its own historical and cultural baggage. It's the closed-minded Westerners -- the ones who advocate for racial "purity" and closed borders -- who say things like "Japan should have been nuked another time."
In the case of the U.S. specifically, it's complicated and incredibly polarized, because you have people who are incredibly open-minded and anti-discrimination, and you also have people who attack others because they feel like looking or acting a certain way makes it okay to use physical violence. In Japan, vocal supporters of anti-discrimination are rare, but because the culture is avoidant, obvious racism does not rise to the surface as easily. It doesn't have any reflection on the degree to which people have internalized it, however.
Finally, I think that despite Japan's xenophobia, racism, and nationalism, it is not even remotely comparable to white supremacy, because there is no Japanese equivalent to the massive colonialization from European powers across the world.
