Minding our manners, being lovely and polite, not raising our voices and placing a high value on - "decorum" - have got us absolutely nowhere. Less than nowhere, in fact.

  11. TBH people just wanted to be left alone to get on with their lives in peace: they're more than willing to pay their taxes and tolerate the behaviour of useless and corrupt politicians. But these politicians couldn't just leave it at that: they had to carry on attacking their own citizens at every opportunity. Finally people had had enough.

  28. I hope people aren't dangerously naive enough to think labour or the libdems are any different. The last 3 years has proven that: the only way is for people to take the plunge and start voting independent - and beginning to get more involved in local politics, putting pressure on their own MPs.

  31. Exactly. Its all part of the same thing. Labour puts people into 2 categories: those who are producing revenue for the state and those who aren't. It doesn't matter if they have paid taxes all their lives, as soon as they are no longer doing so labour has no use for them. That's it.

  33.  @SagaciousFrank  Lol - nice one! Interestingly I always thought he looked like a boxer, so it's no surprise to hear that he was one. BTW I dealt with a lot of TV and film people many years ago and, with the exception of 2 producers and 1 actor, they were all deeply unsavoury and very creepy low lives. I don't miss them.
