  20. Chinese were taught wrong. Univeristy degree is no longer worth much, as there are too many of them. Even master degree. These adults put too much pride in obtaining their degrees. The classes they took are out of date. All those knowledge and theories become out of date very quickly. Yet, these graduates, rarely talk about their work experience. In today's society, work experience is more valuable than just a piece of paper. And employers know this. Employer knows, nearly everyone has a pape of paper. What employers are seeking is, do they have work experience. Employers no longer want to train you, as it is a cost. On day one, the employee better start making money for the company or they are fired. Employers don't have the time, resource or energy to train. Furthermore, employers do not want textbook answers. They want those with high IQ and quality street smart, aka, common sense, problem solving skills, critical thinking. These can't be taught, only acquired through life and experiences. So, rather talk about what degree or what university he/she attends, how about talk about your skills, and working experience. Because your peice of paper is a piece of garbage!

They have been lied to by: family, friends, society, etc that education is a ticket to a good life. This was true 20+ yrs ago, but no more. Unversities are still making money. Imagine, a graduate earning 5000rmb a month, l dont know the tution cost, but im pretty sure it will take along time to earn the money back from their tuitions (paid by their parents, most likely). Many university papers are becoming obslete and useless, especially arts degree. Those with STEM degree have a higher chance. This is also true in the west. University is an experience, it is a luxury. The return is not longer worth it. Street smart is becoming more valuable than papers received from university. We have all been lied to. Only a very few lucky ones can earn high salary. It also depends on luck, your personality, looks and street smart experience.
