@swagmaster622 From the latest Jan 6 sentencing of 3 years in prison. "In the 25 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 985 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including approximately 319 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing." Those poor innocent people. How could anyone accuse them of being domestic terrorists 😱
1
@swagmaster622 So clearly you think those people were all dumb for being duped. Yet you also said you support insurrection because you think the presidency was stolen. So much contradiction. You support it but you also think it was fake. Lol Question: Would you yourself attack law enforcement if you were supposedly let in?
1
@swagmaster622 No. Americans were deceived and manipulated into thinking an election was stolen from them. Trump did it for power and attention. Fox did it for profit. And you can "prefer" to call it whatever you want. But we've all seen the videos (even though you probably tried your hardest to NOT see them, LoL). 300+ people assaulting police is not peaceful.
1
@swagmaster622 This is the problem with conspiracy theorists. Anything they don't want to hear is a false flag. Check out the latest news on the defamation suit between Dominion Voting Systems against Fox and then tell me how honest Fox is. 😉 If I'm not mistaken, Fox told you that votes were stolen by voting machines.
1
@swagmaster622 It doesn't matter if voting machines "could have been" rigged. Because they were NOT actually rigged. And Fox News's internal communications show that they all KNEW they were not rigged. Which shows actual malice (the legal requirement to prove defamation). And that is why Fox is about 3 months from having to cough up nearly $2 billion dollars for defaming Dominion. Deliberate defamation is not protected by the 1st Amendment. Nothing like the sunshine of a lawsuit to air out the dirty laundry. Fox News sold their souls. Deliberately lied to your face and caused an insurrection just to keep you happy and to keep their ratings high. And let's not forget about the Smartmatic lawsuit that's also in the pipeline.
1
@swagmaster622 I like how you only picked out the one part of my argument that was opinion. The fact is, Fox New lied to you about the election. And about voting machines. They lied to you and millions of other people. Knowingly. On purpose. They made you angry. They made you feel you were cheated. Made you believe conspiracy theories. All of it bogus. Just so they could make a bigger profit. Just so you would spend more time tuning in. Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham, Bartiromo, Dobbs. ALL of them right up to the chairman Rupert Murdoch knew it was a lie.
1
Dominion's award was $787.5 million and turning Fox into a international embarrassment. Republicans loooove to scream about fake news, yet the only fake news organization turns out to be Fox.
1
@lindaselander9602 Countersued for what? Dominion didn't do anything wrong. Yet Fox came and destroyed their reputation because it was good for ratings to say the election was stolen. Fox needs to be punished extra harshly for this.
1
@FWBromberg A lot of times, pet projects are needed to get enough votes for passage. Yes, you are buying someone's vote so they have something to go home and tell their constituents about. Also, what counts as ridiculous spending to you? I hear this a lot from conservatives, but they are never able to specify anything they would actually cut that would save more than 0.0001% of spending. Which means they are just looking for reasons to complain without offering meaningful solutions.
1
What is it that Democrats accused Republicans of here that Democrats have also done?
1
@megpie9971 Not true. There is not one thing that Democrats have done themselves that they are accusing Republicans of doing here. Just Republican hopes and dreams that they can blame "both sides" for causing all the dysfunction and people will believe it.
1
Charged under RICO for what? What crimes would be charged? Republicans couldn't even find a high crime or misdemeanor to charge Mayorkas with. Yet they impeached him anyway over a policy dispute. Republicans always openly breaking rules, norms, and laws. Yet they are always the angry ones demanding to speak to the manager.
1
@LibertarianRF I disagree. Democrats want us to have a well developed social safety net like most other developed countries. They are fighting against large corporations and economic elites that many Republicans claim to despise but ideologically refuse to do anything about. And they want every citizen to be able to vote. Period. Yes, they push vaccine mandates, but that is the scientifically responsible thing to do and is being done in most other developed nations. To call them fascist is grossly overexaggerating. Republicans....very few policy ideas. Their 2020 platform was LITERALLY "Support Trump". Their 2022 platform is "Defeat Democrats." They flood the zone with conspiracy theories. They push back against any social movement that aims to increase equality. And beyond that, they do not believe that Democrats should be allowed to win elections. To them, if Democrats win, by definition it is because of fraud and therefore illegitimate...... Only one party scapegoats black people, Hispanics, and Muslims for society's problems. And only one party in history has tried to seditiously overturn a presidential election they lost. All in deference to one man. But you say Democrats are moving toward fascism 🤷♂️
1
@Rumpus Maface If I hear one more person say "both sides suck" as if both sides are rooting against democracy. Both sides do not want every citizen to vote. Both sides do not think the other should even have the right to win. Only one party is expected by most people to act with bipartisanship to "maintain order," but the other party just get a pass on its responsibilities.
1
@interestedparty00 No I won't admit that. Because you can't win a single case in court, which is where you should take your complaints of fraud if valid.
1
@interestedparty00 The GOP’s strategy for elections these days: Claim in advance the contest is rigged, delegitimize common voting methods (e.g., voting by mail), concoct outlandish conspiracy theories to assert the election was “stolen” and then use partisan, fake audits to sow doubt in the results and, if possible, change the outcome.
1
@Rumpus Maface Unfortunately, there are NOT more than two choices. Our system only supports two parties. Third-party candidates have no real infrastructure, sources of funding, or laws supporting them in order to win. That's why Bernie Sanders had to run as a Democrat. People who lean left but voted "third party" are the same people who allowed Donald Trump to win in 2016.
1
@interestedparty00 When Republicans control the federal courts (thanks to Trump's 200+ appointments) and they still can't win a single court case, maybe you should start to question your conspiracy theories 🤷🏾♂️ Btw, how did that Republican-run Arizona audit go. I heard Biden actually gained more votes 😂
1
@interestedparty00 Cheating you can't even prove exists. But sure, blame it on the judges. 60+ judges (10 appointed by Trump himself). ALL of them are corrupt or "afraid of making trouble". Whatever fits the lie you want to hear.
1
@interestedparty00 Yeah, sure. Trump and his henchmen only care about the sanctity of the vote. Just like Trump cares about "protecting the office of the presidency." "Hey guys, give me a break. I only need 11,000 votes." "There's nothing wrong with saying you've recalculated." CORRUPT
1
@interestedparty00 "Hey guys, give me a break. I only need 11,000 votes." "There's nothing wrong with saying you've recalculated." But sure, you accuse Democrats of cheating. PROVE IT IN COURT.
1
@interestedparty00 Prove it in court. That's what the Constitution provides for your complaints. Until then, how about we focus on the actual evidence we have of Trump trying to steal the election.
1
@interestedparty00 In fact I do deny that cheating occurred. And as evidence, I can quote numerous Trump Administration officals, the various state audits, and dozens of state and federal courts. On the other hand, you are hearing only what you want to hear. Information you don't want to hear goes in one ear and right out the other. You have no legal basis or admissible evidence to lean on. Every single attempt to prove cheating has been an utter failure.
1
@MarginalCoyote Another Trump supporter who doesn't care about the law, but only cares about getting his way. That's why so many of his minions and henchmen are in jail right now.
1
@MarginalCoyote Oh wow, a whole paragraph. Looks like I struck a nerve
1
@michaelgrove7463 What are you talking about? These were leaders of the Proud Boys including the National Chairman Tarrio. Also, how have they been treated unfairly? They planned for months to disrupt the transition by force.
1
@michaelgrove7463 The thing about a conspiracy is you only have to be part of the planning in order to be convicted of it. Tarrio conspired (planned) with others to violently interfere with the peaceful transfer of power. That is seditious conspiracy. Nowhere in the law does it say he had to physically be there. Just that he was part of the conspiracy and planning. Leaders aren't let off the hook just because the pawns committed the actual crime.
1
@michaelgrove7463 No one was in jail for 2 years without charges. That is categorically false. What you meant to say was they are in jail pending trial because they either could not afford bail or the judge denied them bail.
1
@michaelgrove7463 Actually Dominic was not held without charges. He was indicted Jan 29, 2021, just weeks after the riot. The judge ordered that he be held without bail. I was able to look that up in less than 30 seconds.
1
No one is letting murderers go free. Not sure who told you that but they were mistaken.
1
@backwardsland1 That may be true, and we can debate the policies around criminal justice reform and mass incarceration. But there's no need to exaggerate the facts by saying murderers are being set free before trial.
1
But MAGA is extreme. Not until 2022-2023 did MAGA suddenly decide that 2000+ books on the booksheves are a threat to their children. MAGA is threatened by any reading material that's not straight, white, and Christian. Why do they feel so threatened?
1
Actually it's a theory that white people don't want black people to get ahead.
1
@Necromonger69 Black people currently have MANY times less wealth than white people. Open up a history book to learn why. Do you want black people to get ahead? Yes or no? If you can't answer YES or NO, without resorting to insults, then you just proved my point 🤷♂️
1
@Necromonger69 Thank you for proving my point, right on cue. I had a feeling you would go to insults rather than answer the question.
1
No it's not an adult subject. Sexuality starts in the teenage years. It's not like people wait until age 18 and decide to suddenly "become gay."
1
The judges appointed by Republicans were no different. They didn't answer questions either. It's just the judges nominated by Republicans "interpret" the constitution in a way that takes us backward and Democrats in a way that takes us forward. Even though most of the stuff judges rule on is never even mentioned in the Constitution.
1
No. It's what we do to people who purposely break the law. Why are you rooting for crime?
1
It's not about Biden being power hungry. It's about who can beat Trump... you know the power hungry wannabe dictator who spread the Big Lie, tried to steal an election, and sent an angry mob to ransack the Capitol over a lie. Did we forget about that, or did we just choose not to care?
1
Countersuit? For what? Every lawsuit I've seen Trump file since he ran for president has been thrown out for being frivolous and full of conspiracy theories. Every single one. The last one that got thrown out, the judge fined him and his lawyer $1 million for wasting everyone's time and money. And Giuliani had his law license suspended for filing all those frivolous lawsuits after the 2020 election.
1
That's what you said in 2020.
1
He can't afford to appeal it. In Georgia, you have to put up a bind of the full judgment amount in order to appeal. It is meant to prevent people from delaying payment through appeals. If he can afford to appeal, he can afford to pay them the judgment.
1
Every older generation is soooo concerned about the changing times and "the future of our nation." Yet we continue on. We will be fine. Try not to panic.
1
But he's playing a role that is needed. The Republican Party a cult that worships Donald Trump. Chris Christie is trying to offer some therapy, but the Kool-Aid is just too strong, too addictive.
1
@richardbaker_0086 o more emotional than Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation. He was a very emotional man indeed.
1
What's wrong with a minority hire? The U.S. is nearly 40% nonwhite. It stands to reason that there should be a lot of minority hires.
1
I noticed that MAGA nation keeps facing consequences for lying. Fox, Giuliani, Mike Lindell, Trump, Newsmax, OANN. So if/when a Democrat decides to defame you based on a lie, feel free to sue them.
1
Michael P When the fate of a law or regulation is in your hands, you can think about it however you want. The law says OSHA (inside the Labor Department) SHALL pass regulations protecting workplace safety. But since you can't turn off your vaccination status, I guess OSHA's regulation is now unconstitutional, if Alito wants it to be. Alito could prioritize public health, or he could prioritize personal freedom. There better not be anyone questioning Biden when he fails to stop the pandemic. Can't say he didn't try.
1
@piscatorial5666 Biden is not a fan of shining the shoes of felons.
1
@SnowsStorm1 But Trump wants Putin to win. For some reason, sociopaths like to see weaker people get hurt rather than help them thrive.
