  1. Back in the 90's, Intel would intentionally prop up AMD to avoid anti-competitive lawsuit while still making all the money. But winner takes all is the natural result of technology and democracy. Who wants to use MySpace when Facebook has all the eyeballs? Artificially created competition is not efficient. There's no easy solution to this.

  2. The fundamental problem with Europe is that they are generating little innovation these days. Meanwhile, US tech companies (e.g. FANG) are more concerned about China (e.g. BAT) than Europe, but that's a different battle.
