  1. That gun carriage looks like it would be unwieldy in the trenchs. The French probably preferred their own Canon d'Infantrie de 37 mle 1916 TRP. Which was tripod mounted and more compact. And which, like the Russian and Austro-Hungarian infantry guns, could be broken down and manpacked.
