No, you can study Roman and Greek history before Christianity, and learn all the same stuff.

To be fair, though, Kabbalah is clearly derived from the Greek practices of magic. The Jews kinda just ripped them off, and invented their own folk tradition (based off said practices and interpreting the Torah). The "Jewish" side, sure...can help one understand deceptions. The rest of it (that is, where such practices are derived from the Greeks), according to the source, just goes back to a Deus Ex Machina and theoretic thought.
