No I have limits, a fluctuation (depending on the state of the economy) between 30 to 50 %, however "never" above 50% which I believe then becomes theft. Which is why I want the big money out of DC! Cause if being a politican wasn't such a lucrative venture you wouldn't get nearly as many of these lying backhanded-faux "for the people" crooks.in DC. And I thought having less corrupting big money would be a principle of small govt.

I don't like big unions either, I support the gutting of their power as well. I support total reform of the union system that is more localized and merit based. The whole idea of unions protecting workers that are unproductive is absolutely ridiculous! I also would support a "workers insurance/ barginning" model (private or public but I lean toward private) Hell, one has to pay union dues, its not a free service. So I see no problem with it being made a market commodity.

You're right, American RW libertarianism is a crooked, sleazy bastardization of the original term and what it originally represents.

Austrian school is discredited, due to its cult like religiousity to a utopian free market. Plus is great icons like von Hayek's "Road to Selfdom" have been totally discredited Ex: the post WWII boom in western Europe which he had predicted would evolve in the a western USSR, I didn't happen... Mainstream economists reject austrianism for empirical reasons and not due to some diabolical conspiracy theory, Also the whole anti-democracy thing is a massive red flag, alluding corrupt motives!

I do, I currently pretty much all our politicans including President windbag in major contempt. I would be willing to give you guys your free market, under two conditions. 1. That you purge DC of all the lobbyists, and I mean ALL of them both left and right. One should have the right to have a physical voice in DC but it should be free of big money. 2. Leave voluntarily established unions alone. (When you go after voluntary unions you're being hypocrits to your own ideology.)

Which is why I'm not a fan of Keynesianism, I support the ordoliberal model of Germany used since the end of WWII.

The whole reason for taxes in that range is to keep the richest members of the private sector in check when it come to their power. At the same time the market should use its power to keep the government in check. Balancing each other out. Any dogma that constantly demonizes one sector while blindly praising the other is dangerous. A power vacuum "never" stays open for long. Which the ultimate result being autocracy... This lack of power balance is my primary beef with RW Libertarians.

Personally I'm not sure if were ready yet to dispose of market based economics. What I do know is that the extremist model (neoliberalism) is destined to collapse. Primarilly, due to its lack of respect for sustainable polices toward the production of goods. And its downright-religious obsession with short term profits and ignorance to long term planning and investing. Milton Friedman's brilliant (scarcasm) brainchild.

The massive amount of money they keep from large tax breaks and gov subsides hardly goes to jobs: The last 30's years have shown it goes to lobbying, hoarding, job outsourcing and their favorite past time gambling on Wall Street. I'm really tried of the "they'll create jobs" talking point.
1
But that still deals with the same power vacuum falacy. If I knew that they weren't going to use their tax break money on corrupting and buying off the government, then I'd possibly support lowering their taxes. But the last 30+ years have proven this not to be the case. Thus I'll stick the the traditional ideas of a moderately progressive tax code.

Which is Chicago school Friedmanism...

RW libertarians can 'whine and bitch' about redistribution all they want, but the fact is redistribution is needed now to reduce the extreme amount of wealth that goes into lobbying and buying off the government, not to mention revive the middle class. You don't want redistribution, then go after the vile K- street lobbying complex instead of demonizing people just barely making ends meet. As they're a far bigger impediment to the your total free-market dream than anything a few welfare bums do.
1
They hide behind a hippy-esque bohemian facade, and co-pt ideals from the non-authoritarian left (drug reform, social freedoms etc:) to make themselves more appealing to young people. However, It is just a tactic to hide their primary reason for their existence... to evangelize and convert people to their barbaric, discredited economic beliefs (aka: austrian economics) Which are the primary goal of the whole movement. All the other issues they supposedly support are just window dressing.

You're right the utopian free market pushed on us is pure propaganda that I don't believe it's main proponents even truely believe in. However the market based economy has proven its efficiency in many cases. But it does have it's failures and that's why it needs check and balances (regulations) just like any human institution in order to prevent monopolies on power.
1
What is the opposite of democracy? hirarchical autocracy! The anti-democracy meme is disgusting and ultimately shows the true side of RW Libert/propertarians.
1
I would disagree, a free-market is a component of a free society. It depends on how the word free-market is interpreted though, in the moderately regulated northern European model. (ordoliberalism) Or the extremist unregulated Anglo-saxon, casino model (Chicago-school, Friedmanism) The Austrian school (American RW Libertarianism) is hyper-dogmatic-quackery not even worth mentioning...
1
The only industry I like/tolerate subsidies for is green energy and technology. However if they're are other ideas to encourage these industries without the use of government subsides I'm open to them.
