  3. Agree 100%. I'm a nurse as well and have floated to ICU, lol. Many years in EMS, as well. Styx is making too much stew from one oyster, here. There are so many differential diagnoses and mundane explanations for what appears to be happening. I would not hazard even a preliminary diagnosis without doing a thorough neurological assessment on him.

  10. Not a great call at all. You simply can not tell for sure unless you have training and are there to physically assess him: as questions, check extremity strength, etc. This is a judgment call brimming with hubris.

  13. Joe has atrial fibrillation and I think takes warfarin or apixaban for it to prevent an ischemic stroke . . . but then you're at risk for hemorrhagic stroke.
