  2. One of my professors was a lawyer with Castro throughout the 1959 revolution. Was promised a high court seat. What he got was jail and torture, though. I loved to hear him harangue young Marxist students in two languages about how effed up their embrace of communism was.

  4.  @mambi74  You're right. Also had 2 root canals on a live, broken tooth in 1975. Some dentists were just more "old school". Ask elderly Americans how sadistic their dentists were. It's kind of bizarre. I'd like to add that, here in the US, Veterans' Administration doctors are notorious for being less than cutting edge. Probably for reasons not unrelated to why Cuban dentists didn't exactly cater to customers.

  10. I have two sister cats, Uma and Hildur, who look like them, only not as cobby. They have the same patch tabby pattern and colors. They also managed to dump a gallon of liquid detergent on the kitchen floor last night, the assholes. Don't ask me how they unscrewed the cap.
