  6. I was wondering about that. I'm fluent in Spanish because I worked hard at it and have lived in Mexico. I've met a lot of second- and third-generation Mexicans whose Spanish sounds good at first, but after a little bit you can start to hear how limited and English-influenced it is. I haven't heard very much from Castro, but what little I heard wasn't as spectacularly awful as what came out of Beto's mouth.

  7.  @Stevarooni  Such crap. All four of my grandparents were bilingual children of immigrants whose parents spoke their mother tongue in the home. Their kids in turn knew very little except English. This decay in retaining the immigrant language just happens as successive generations become assimilated. Julián Castro is a big fat jerk for blaming his shaky Spanish on racism. And also a dummy. What lie won't he tell to make himself seem better than he is?
