  5. There is nothing new under the sun . . . I remember when the same excuse worked for Reagan. We halfway thought Reagan was lying about not remembering, and halfway sure that his memory was really that bad. He had really lost a lot of pizazz after being shot in '81, and even more after his cancer surgery in his second term. His mother, Nelle, died from Alzheimer's, and it can take a decade or more of impaired thinking before a dementia diagnosis gets handed to you. Ope! Rambling again.
