  1. To an outsider like me, it seems that large swathes of 'Murican society is hell-bent on going back in time by denying the clear and present advantages that modern medicine has to offer. The anti-mask & anti-vaccine mania during the worst of the Covid pandemic is one example, the anti-abortion & anti-contraceptive mania now sweeping 'Murica is another. Denying sizeable chunks of the 'Murican population affordable health care is a third. To the rest of the world, 'Murica is beginning to look like a bunch of religious zealots that want to suppress half of their population (females) - and deny all progress in medical science. In Afghanistan and some other places they are called Talibans. What we need now is a similar label we can use to describe the 'Murican wanna-be Talibans.
