One of the problems the US has is the unchained capitalism and monopolies that evolved after Bloody Reagan, and the political corruption that prevents any bridle being put on the rabid capitalists. The Nordic countries (and most of Europe) heeded the lessons from the US post-WW2: Free enterprise is beneficial, provided you NEVER take the bridle out of the horse's mouth. Capitalism is like firearms - it has to be highly regulated to prevent it from becoming a suicide weapon!
