If someone wonders the handgun ammo expended by the SMS Scharfschütze, it must be noted, that the channel leading into the inner harbor of Ravenna (where Porto Corsini is) was at the time 30 meters "wide" - while the Huszár class destroyer was 67 meters long. This explains the "stern first" approach as well as the need for shooting sidearms the way out at charging Italian infantry. No lack of spirit on either side.

  39.  @Voron_Aggrav  The captain of SMS Scharfshütze (Marksman), a Huszár-class destroyer was a certain Bogumil Nowotny, who drove his ship into the 30 meters wide channel of Porto Corsini's inner harbor - STERN FIRST. He was looking for Italian torpedo-boats, but only found a shore artillery position which had to be silenced before leaving - but the Italian infantry stationed near stormed the ship. This explains the spent pistol ammunition. However, this gentleman became the first commander of the newly recreated Poland's Navy - and THAT prolly explains a lot, why ORP Piorun engaged a gunnery duel with the WWII German Battleship BIsmarck, while flashing her signal lamp "I AM POLE".
