Appreciate that you are pulling this information together and presenting it. I believe that I speak for many when I observe that conduct of this nature would go unnoticed were it not for your efforts. It certainly would for me. Shining a light on this fraud is the start to a cure.

Great interview and insights! Would love to see the longer version!

Someone who you thought was going places, but suddenly just like total bums with no prospects... Well damn, if it ain't me!

I was taught about power posing in a professional development meeting on social-emotional health. (I'm a teacher) I had my class do power-poses a few times, but I never noticed an effect so I went back to deep breathing exercises pretty quickly. I would love to get your thoughts on some other strategies that can be used to lower cortisol levels in the short-term. Both for my students and for myself! Thanks for the awesome content.

I also started public speaking in high school and was the valedictorian at graduation. I continued with this in college and recall a tip my professor shared that you may find interesting. He believed that as a speaker one needed to convey three things: 1) I'm glad to be here (act like you are really enjoying this) 2) I'm glad you are here (of all the people I'd like to be imparting this information to, you would be at the top of my list) 3) I know what I know (I did my homework before coming here today, so I'm not going to waste your time).

I think behavioral scientists put too much emphasis on environmental impact on behavior change, neglecting individual psychology. Environmental changes may increase probability of a certain behavior, but we are more complicated than that.

Hello Pete! Amazing video and a great topic. Now I see how AI can bring benefits to behavioral science. I loved how you got some real BS challenges and what would be examples of effective/non-effective solutions. Those kinds of videos are very helpful for people like me, that are starting in the behavioral science world.

You appear to misspeak slightly at 9:00, conflating the p-value with the effect size. You seem to have the p-value correct; it is the probability of the difference between conditions being due to chance. The effect size is the magnitude of the difference between the conditions. edit: otherwise a very good explanation.

Aww man! I literally just bought myself a copy like a month ago and was so excited to read it. Glad I saw this video before I cracked it open. Now I can go in with the right mindset. This makes me wonder what systems are in place to keep people informed on new findings. If someone disseminates their work online, they can go back and add disclaimers or corrections to make sure people know if its been disproven since. But with a physical book, there's not a great way of updating information once it's been published and in circulation.

I have a few problems with the Ikea effect. The foundational idea the labor leads to love is flawed. It doesn't apply to all stages of learning a skill, and only really considers the first "unconscious incomitance" stage and occasionally the last "unconscious competence" stage. When in the middle stages, labor can lead to hate and disappointment in the product and the entire theory of the ikea effect breaks apart.

Good video. I just bought it lol

Loved the video and subscribed. I decided to a more extreme version of 'dopamine detox' which is basically a week of lower to negligible consumption of electronic media (phones, TV, dating apps, social media - you name it) and this definitely made me more productive and improved my concentration levels in the following weeks. I've since thought I could train my brain to enjoy low dopamine releasing activities (e.g. working) through avoidance of high dopamine releasing activities (e.g. Dating apps). It works but guess not for the same reasons advertised In a number of these videos.

brooo, please can make some positive things regarding scientific studies and research so that ur channel doesn’t end up becoming anti vaxxer and flat earther hotspot
8
Really Interesting video. Also its super wholesome that original video creator watched your video and was thankful for corrections. Usually people get rude or something in cases like that.

This is an incredibly useful and powerful tool in habit formation! You can rely on the sub-categories of these categories elucidated by the Behavioral Insights Team UK to give you a wider understanding of the new habit you're trying to build. Easy to understand and a simple breakdown, Pete!

Thanks for the education. Fantastic informative videos on our "bounded rationality" 👍 Good job

you know what?? @PeteJudo1 i would love to see a study on what happened to the people after all of this. like how much of a struggle they have without the money now. how bad they are at rejoining the normal.
7
With the way you're talking about kurzgesagt, it sounds like you didn't do any research on the channel/it's background, which makes it hard for me to want to take this video seriously. It's a team of people who do a lot of research and provide sources to everything they do. They also consult with different experts based on the topic they're covering. Although that doesn't mean they're right about everything, at least they do their due diligence.

Jose is the representation of toxic masculinity.

This is the first time I actually see someone mentioning Adam Ferrier's book. Hugely underappreciated book that anyone in business should read. Your list is pure gold for an intro to BE. Great work 🔥
7
Congratulations on making the move to London! Hoping you get on board with all habits you’ve been wanting to inculcate in this period of change!
7
As appreciative of your content I am, the blooper and that ending was hilarious!

I still don't get what the journals are charging the exorbitant amount for? I mean the researcher who is contributing the knowledge does not get paid for it, most of the time the reviewers are also do this free of charge, same for the editors. So if everyone who is essential to the process works for free, what are we being charged for?
7
Great video! Excited to see more of this series also, YES to the video on how to make habits rewarding. The amount of times I've tried to make myself a better student and failed is too many
7
Great video! I guess people also revisit shows to relive the emotions they felt when they first watched the show..i.e. the feeling of nostalgia
7
This is reminding me of the time I faked data on a science fair and somehow got 2nd place
7
The book club sounds like a great idea!
7
If I experience withdrawal symptoms from TikTok (psychological not psychical), does that turn it into an addiction? Or is it still just a strong habit?
7
I appreciate this channel actually fact checking whether or not books are accurate and recommending books based on that and not based on popularity.
7
Another really interesting video on human behaviour. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these presentations. FWIW I think you have the format and duration spot on.
7
Well done Pete, you never cease to amaze your followers! So many things could be said about this video but I just want to point out that you don’t need a phD to show everyone how much you know and understand about Behavioral Science but still you chose to bring a professor into this video to make your point even more credible. That was a really humble atittude🙏🏻 Keep doing videos like this and spreading the latest findings and news about this field (besides negative comments) because you really know what you’re doing! I wish you all the best and I hope that one day this will be the most recommended channel of the field 🔝
7
Awesome man, I was just looking for some books to read.
7
Great material. I am surprised you do not have more people following you since your material and the way you present it is very interesting and current. Do not give up¡¡¡ Keep on adding more good insights, and more Wendy Wood¡¡¡ Regards from Chile¡¡
7
Great video Pete, the quality of these videos is sky rocketing.
7
It's awesome that you are making this change and I am grateful to see that not everyone prioritizes profit over honesty. I'm looking forward to your new content.
7
Thank you for the comprehensive and complete video.
7
Super interesting! I was always confused why people (myself included) would take photos of themselves on Snapchat rather than using the iPhone camera because they felt like they looked better for some reason, but now I'm realizing it's because Snapchat flips the image and so we see that reverse version of ourselves
7
Congratulations!! Well done on not giving up, on dedicating love and decision to your passions no matter the odds, on staying humble and always eager to learn.. and on paying respect to those who succeeded first and are worth the recognitions... Step by step you surely are finding your spot among them and from one person who is a complete stranger .. thank you for this video today!!! Best of luck on your new job and in pursuing all of your dreams!
7
maybe you can try building a habit yourself and capture that journey and explain what you exactly did in context to behavioral sci..... i think it will be really interesting too.

Hi Pete 👋 Remember me when you have a Million Subscribers 😉🔥

Great video. Its always awesome people like you giving their input on a video in this style. Well made, to the point, pointed out flaws in his advice. The combination of Joeys and your video makes a very great end result. Nice work!

I’m one of many who has significant problems with academia. However, it’s a big jump to say that academia is broken based on three instances of research misconduct from a single Ivy League professor. I know, broad generalizations generate clicks - which generate revenue.
7
Thank you for sharing this informative video. Today was starting off difficult, and although I'm not a serious drinker I have used this substance to relieve some traumas for a quick fix. Now today I had in mind to drink, but I've decided to join the bandwagon of using no drug nor alcohol with you winner's.

Think I’ve learned more from this video than I ever did in my psychology classes at college, p.s I sat it for a year. But this is very informative, very easy to understand and a fun take on something that might not capture everyone’s imagination!! Will be a regular viewer now for sure!
7
Not again!
7
Quality breakdown mate! This video will go off 📈📈
7
Love this!!! Looking forward to your new content! Good luck :)

Had it in my to-read pile like for some time. I will still read it but glad I can go into it with this in mind (proceed with caution!) 👍
