Your suggestion about Shakespeare is great but doesn't go far enough. We should all be reading Shakespeare all the time.

first two recommendations: I completely hate this type of book, because it's deplorable and miserable for these books to even exist, and they are the bane of my existence. Here's an exception. 🤣 lol

I may be the only "bookish" person I know that has yet to ever use an E-reader. I am not against it at all, but have yet to hop on board. The Note2 looks very cool, but I am not sure what it will take to push me over the edge. Great video!

Great arguments! I agree with every single one. Here is one more. Kids are rarely assigned older texts in school. Until high school my kids haven't read a single book that wasn't from the 20th or 21st century. Even in high school, it's either modern stuff or Shakespeare that none of them understand. Almost none of the books from the 18th and 19th centuries. No Hugo, Tolstoy, Bronte, etc. Some kids will read all that, but it's not assigned in school. Finally, in college, you might be assigned an 18th century novel and the language in unfamiliar.

One of the times youtube does it's work well, I really needed this, Lord knows how much I miss writing amd how I can't keep with a journal for too long, then again, I really grow tired of my ugly writing so better fix that before anything else. Thanks a lot for the video!

It's not much as I'm on a fixed income. I, too, lost my job in Healthcare IT some five years ago. Unfortunately it triggered a severe mental health crisis that I'm still recovering from. I'll spare you the details but I bottomed out in hospital, a newly minted widower owning nothing but the gown I was wearing. As a philosophy graduate I greatly appreciate your content Think of me whilst a try reconcile my Wittgenstein, Chalmers and David Deutsch (my favorite Physicist-Epestimologist) who had a few free moments in 1985 and decided to invent the field of quantum computing. Best wishes and holiday greetings.

Hope this ends up being a blessing in disguise for you man. Your channel has stayed consistently fire, and imagine how much more not only your channel, but you as an individual will grow now that you can devote some extra 30-40 hours a week to reading, writing, and talking about literature/philosophy. Instead of staring at a screen for Indeed. I for one am looking forward to the videos to come!! Best of luck on your new chapter in life.

You're a certainty, Jared! I was worried this was a video about fast reading or things like that, but this video is about simple quality time advice. Quality over quantity is always the best way to live and enjoy things!
